SUCO Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) pressure transmitters/transducers – hot new development offering satisfying high temperature operation, high accuracy and repeatability, and long term stability requirements in off highway equipment. The ability to operate at high temperatures, chemical inertness, and virtual absence of hysteresis make the strain gauges ideal for use in pressure sensors. However, pressure transducers used in hydraulic systems of off-highway machines must tolerate punishing conditions, such as severe pressure spikes caused by valves shifting, prolonged exposure to continual pulsation, broad temperature ranges, heavy shock, and vibration. Pressure spikes can be especially harmful or even destroy a pressure transducer. Prolonged exposure to continual pulsation can cause fatigue failure of the pressure transducer and influence long term stability and accuracy. The benefits of SOS sensor technology would make them ideal for off-highway equipment. However, price sensitivity has k ept them from penetrating the high-volume off-highway equipment industry. Hence SUCO has introduce its Type 07XX pressure transducer based on silicon-on-sapphire technology. Key advantages of the transducer include: Silicon-on-Sapphire technology Body and wetted parts made of stainless steel / titanium No seals and thus low leakeage rate even with difficult gases High overpressure safety especially suitable for use in hydraulic applications Long working life even with high rates of pressure cycles High accuracy and reliability for secure process monitoring Very small size for compact subassemblies Technical data: Type: 0705, 0710, 0720 Output signal: 0, 5-4, 5 V ratiometric (Type 0705) 0-10 V (3-wire) (Type 0710) 4-20 mA (2-wire) (Type 0720) Supply voltage Ub: 5 VDC +/- 10% max. 6, 5 VDC (Type 0705) 12-32 VDC (Type 0710) 10-32 VDC (Type 0720) Maximum load: >= 4, 7 kΩ (Type 0705 & 0710)
