Plfa - phospholipid fatty acid is a phenotype approach to assess the microbial community structure in the sample. Plfa - phospholipid fatty acid analysis is based on the extraction of 'signature' lipid bio markers from the cell membranes of the microbes and conversion of the lipids to their respective fames.
