This rickshaw has been designed to provide last mile connectivity to the commuters. The E rickshaws available in the market are four seaters and run on fixed routes. This deprives the passenger of the last mile connectivity leading to further travel by walking or a pedal rickshaw to reach the final destination the home, office, or market place.

Exito meaning success in Spanish is a specially designed electric vehicle to fill this gap for enabling the commuter travelling by Metro or bus to reach his or her final destination the house or office in comfort and convenience.

The passenger can immediately board the rickshaw and move towards the destination doorstep may it be the house, office, or the market place.

This particular model has evolved after a lots of research and observance of the current scenario. The rickshaw’s being sold in the market are nothing but the imported Chinese version without any modifications or adaptation of the local conditions, or safety features, oblivious to the comfort or convenience of the driver or the passenger.

The front wheel of the vehicles available in the market is different from the two rear wheels, as a result of which the spare wheel can not replace the front wheel if it deflates on the road. The owner/driver has to leave his passengers in the middle of the rout to fend for themselves until he removes the wheel and takes it to a puncture shop for repairs to the tube.

Exito has all the three wheels common and the spare wheel can be used as a replacement to the front or back wheels resulting in saving a lot of inconvenience to the driver and the passengers.

It was also observed that the drivers to gain more mileage from the batteries do not switch on any light or for that matter any lights. This leads to a unsafe and hazardous conditions endangering the life of the driver as well as the passengers.

To mitigate this condition the Exito has been provided with an extra 12 Volt battery which is not connected to the main drive (motor) all the lights of the vehicle are connected to this 12 volt battery hence the owner/driver of the E rickshaw does not gain any thing by switching the lights off after sunset. This leads to safe travel conditions on the roads. The auxiliary battery is connected to a solar panel on the roof of the vehicle, which recharges the battery in the daytime to be used during the evening/night.

The FRP body of the vehicle is fire resistant and all steel used in the body including the handle and the foot brake pedal is stainless steel, which is non-corrosive and requires no maintenance. The rear brakes under the chassis is of a unique fail proof mechanism designed to give adequate ground clearance.
