tree view tree view tree view "Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower" - with this spirit Aditya Biotech Agricon Research & Development Lab (ABARD) was established. We aim at conducting innovative research work in the field of plant tissue culture; molecular marker aided development; microbial biotechnology for enzymes, proteins, metabolites production, molecular characterization and improvement of orphan crops using biotechnological interventions. ABARD lab has been recognized by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India. Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India. Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India.

Tissue Culture : Sugarcane

Sugarcane is a very popular cash crop among farmers making good profit from its cultivation. Tissue culture sugarcane plants, unlike conventional propagation, accelerates the multiplication process several fold and produces large quantities of planting material in a matter of months. To ensure that disease-free clean planting material is supplied to growers, cultures are produced from shoot tops collected from Sugarcane Breeding Institute, Coimbatore approved sugarcane plots only. Shoots tips received in the laboratory are been tested for sugarcane diseases according to NCS-TCP quality control protocols. DNA fingerprinting of these shoot tips and tissue culture plants are done.

Tissue Culture : Jatropha (On Demand)

The Aditya Biotech Lab and Research (ABLR) is engaged in enhancing the potential of Jatropha plantation by conducting research works on various aspects of Jatropha cultivation, biodiesel production and by-products of Jatropha. The ABLR initiated R & D activities on Jatropha during the year 2002. After 3 year of R &D the ABLR introduced TC plants of Jatropha and planted in fields. However reluctance from farmers and later by state government did not promote this wonderful plant further. It is a drought-resistant perennial, growing well in marginalpoor soil. It is easy to establish, grows relatively quickly and lives, producing seeds for 50 years. It is found to be growing in many parts of the country, rugged in nature and can survive with minimum inputs and easy to propagate.

Tissue Culture Acacia_Mangium (On Demand)

Acacia is also known as Australian Teak which is not thorny. They are pod-bearing, with sap and leaves typically bearing large amounts of tannins and condensed tannins that historically in many species found use as pharmaceuticals and preservatives. They are used for timber, pulp wood, gum, medicials and others. Acacia gives high opacity and below average bulk paper. This is suitable in lightweight offset papers used for bibles and dictionaries. It is also used in paper tissue where it improves softness. Acacia can be planted for erosion control, especially after mining or construction damage.

Tissue Culture : Eucalyptus (On Demand)

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus teriticornis) is quick growing flowering trees and shrubs native to Australia. ITC Bhandrachalam introduced some clones of eucalyptus collected from Australis and grown in India. These clones were further tested by BILT paper mill and requested ABLR to produce such clone tissue culture, as a result ABLR started commercial production of these clones and provides it to local farmers also. ABLR has around 30 acres of eucalyptus plantation. The dried leaves of these plants are used for extraction of essential oil in our oil distillation unit and supplied.

Tissue Culture : Banana

ABLR introduced cultivation of tissue culture raised banana plants for the first time in this part of Country leading to revolutionary change in economic stability of local farmers. The lab has introduce many varieties like Grandnaine, Shrimant, Mahalaxmi and Basrai, out of which Grandnaine is most popular among the farmers due to its potential of getting a yield of 30 to 40 kg fruit per bunch and harvesting period under 12 months. At ABLR we breed superior horticultural selections of this cultivar with high-yielding characteristics. Research and Development unit of ABLR is in a verge of developing elite verities of banana plants through somaclonal variations.Apart from our research we also have few elite banana clones procured from Israel viz; Gal, Zelig and Eilon which will be released to the Indian market soon after our field evaluations and trials.

Tissue Culture : Bamboo (On Demand

Bamboo is a Symbol of century's old civilization of mankind being a part of daily life style in almost all occasion. India is number one country in world with largest Bamboo forests (8.98 million ha). It is used in several industries like paper, housing, cottage, handicrafts and in modern time as wood substitutes for practical board, furniture & recently as floor tiles, mats etc. Tissue culture is a technique to produce large quantities of plants in very short period of time. Plants from tissues are grown under controlled environmental conditions. Starting from only a few nodal pieces, within a period of 4-8 months thousands of new plants can be produced. These plants are multiplied every 3-5 weeks. This is an excellent method of propagate new introductions or new selections very rapidly. The following species are being produced at our lab: Bambusa balcooaBambusa nutansBambusa tuldaDendrocalamus strictus
