Firelight Duo provides high performance extract ventilation for most kinds of industrial and commercial buildings, and has been designed with the ever more stringent demands of the Energy Performance in Buildings directive in mind. Tested to and in compliance with EN 12101-2.
Features and benefitsA wide range of applications- Firelight Duo is classed as a dual purpose ventilator, providing both day to day and smoke control ventilation. Polycarbonate and glass versions allow the entry of natural daylight, and a wide range of infill panels are available, including a reduced noise panel. Pneumatic or electric linear drives are available.
Proven performance- Firelight Duo has been exhaustively tested and certified to EN 12101-2: 2003 in accredited third party test laboratories and is CE marked.
High performance- Firelight Duo has high aerodynamic, acoustic and thermal performance, and has a high resistance to the effects of fire.
Acoustic performance Firelight Duo offers a reduced noise panel with a performance of 49 dB Rw.
Thermal performance- Firelight Duo is thermally broken and has five high grade continuous EPDM and TPE seals, two which seal the panels into the lids and three between the lids and the frame. As a result there is very low air leakage and a low U-value.
In addition to this the Firelight Duo has been tested in accordance with typical window and door standards:

An impact test has been carried out on the Firelight Duo in accordance to GSBau18. We achieved 300 Joule with the polycarbonate version and 1200 Joule with the insulated aluminium version.
Easy to install- Firelight Duo is designed for installation into glazing, onto a curb or into sheeting. It has a wide range of base profiles to suit most glazing, sheeting or curb types.

DescriptionNatural twin flap roof ventilator, suitable for natural day to day ventilation and smoke control, for high aerodynamic, acoustic, airtightness and thermal performance. Tested to and in compliance with EN 12101-2 and CE marked. Classified as fall through resistant when closed in 300J & 1200J impact tests. Manufactured under the ISO 9001 quality standard.
Dimensions / size rangeAll components of the base and flap are manufactured from EN AW 6060-T66 aluminium alloy. The frames of both the base and flap are thermally broken.

Controls optionsBoth options are for smoke and day to day ventilation. For pneumatic versions, either double-action locking mechanisms or fail safe open. For electric versions, only double-action locking option available.
FCO can provide either inlet or extract ventilation as well as permit the entry of natural daylight, and is suited to most kinds of industrial and commercial buildings. FCO is not tested or certified for smoke control ventilation.
FCO louvred ventilators are suited to most industrial and commercial buildings and are among the most cost-effective kinds of natural ventilators.
They are popular with Specifiers and Contractors because of the wide range of options available, and Building Operators and Owners because of their simplicity and low maintenance.

Two controllable side dampers provide day to day ventilation when it is raining.
WCO louvred ventilators are well suited to most industrial and some commercial buildings. If rainy weather makes it necessary to close the top louvres, continuous weatherproof ventilation can be enabled by opening the side dampers.

Various control options- The pneumatic control can be extended to incorporate a rain sensor, so that when it rains the top louvres automatically close and simultaneously the side louvres open. If used as a smoke ventilator, activation is either by a local thermal fuse which opens the unit at a pre-selected temperature, or by the controls responding to an external release signal. (Please note that it is not certified as a smoke ventilator to EN 12101-2).

Coltlite is a natural louvred ventilator suitable for natural day to day and smoke control ventilation. Most variants conform to both EN 12101-2 as smoke ventilators and EN 14351-1 as windows and all are CE marked. It can provide inlet and extract ventilation as well as the entry of natural daylight for most kinds of industrial and commercial buildings. It achieves high acoustic, thermal and aerodynamic performance. It is suited for installation into the faade.
Its form and function makes it particularly suited to naturally ventilated buildings where good aerodynamic and measured free area ventilation is required while achieving high acoustic, thermal and aerodynamic performance. Whilst it is primarily designed as a glazed element of the building envelope, it can also be applied as a high specification fire, smoke and air control damper. Typical applications are hospitals, schools, shopping centres, apartments and commercial buildings.

Certified performance All versions of Coltlite except CLS 45 and CLST have been exhaustively tested and certified to EN 12101-2: 2003 as dual purpose ventilators in accredited third party test laboratories. In addition all ventilators have been tested to EN 14351-1 which guarantees their performance as faade elements. All ventilators are CE marked accordingly.
High performance in fire -One of the fire consultants main design considerations is to make sure that any smoke emitted by a fire is evacuated from the building in a controlled fashion. Special arrangements need to be considered, in particular for escape routes such as in stairwells. Coltlite is very suitable for protecting escape routes since it has a high aerodynamic efficiency, opens quickly, has large openings and does not get in the way of people trying to leave the building.

Safe in operation With electric versions there is an optional device to reduce the speed and force of the closing louvres in order to reduce the risk of finger trapping.
