The ICY and delivery inspection will be done by dedicated laser tracker in AAIPL.Its a SAAB-SITC-AAI design-to-build project for Airbus A321 Door Plug. SITC (Design, Stress, Tool Design), AAIPL (Industrialization inc Work shop set up, Supply Chain, FAI & More).AAIPL has participated in the tooling design activity. The inputs from AAIPL during the design stage were mainly from a manufacturing feasibility point of view.AAIPL supply chain will source all the detail parts, hardware's, chemicals required for this package.The complete assembly and painting (touch-up painting of rivets and inner side of the door structure) will be done at Aerostructures assemblies India Pvt Ltd.

bolt assembly is Aerostructres Assemblies India Pvt. Ltd (AAIPL) is a Joint Venture (JV) between AEQUS Pvt. Ltd (74%) and SAAB Aero structures (26%) of Sweden. The JV was formed with an objective to develop a mutually beneficial assembly capability within India. AAIPL incepted in Nov-2012 whereas the Operations started in 2013 and the first assemblies shipped out in 2014. AAIPL plant has a built-up area of 25, 500 square feet with plans to increase capacity to 60, 000 square feet in the future. AAIPL mainly offers Build-to-Print (BTP) manufacturing services for Commercial, Defense and Space Programs. AAIPL currently manufactures aerostructure assemblies of size up to 4 meter X 2 meter, weighing up to 150 kilograms. As part of the assembly business requirement, AAIPL puts high emphasis on training its employees. AAIPL has established robust training programs for its employees to ensure the required skill levels always.

CSK is a conical hole cut into a manufactured object, or the cutter used to cut such a hole. A common use is to allow the head of a countersunk bolt or screw, when placed in the hole, to sit flush with or below the surface of the surrounding material (by comparison, a counterbore makes a flat- bottomed hole that might be used with a socket-head capscrew). A countersink may also be used to remove the burr left from a drilling or tapping operation thereby improving the finish of the product and removing any hazardous sharp edges.

The assemblies will be delivered to Saab, Linkoping (Sweden). Saab would in turn deliver the assemblies to Airbus, Filton (UK). These assemblies are part of the mid and outer leading edge (wing section) of the A380 aircraft, developed and produced by Saab. The manufacturing processes associated with these assemblies are classified as Special Processes and only Airbus approved suppliers are authorized to manufacture these parts.

Airbus specifies strict requirements for the assembly processes involved. In order to fulfil these requirements AAI has defined detailed work instructions & inspection guidelines and set up a robust manufacturing system to enable the manufacturing of these assemblies. The Manufacturing Engineers, Quality engineering assemblies Engineers, Production Operators and Quality Inspectors involved in the manufacturing of these products have undergone rigorous training for over 6 months, including 3 months at Saabs facility in Sweden. AAI secured Airbus Process Qualification Approval in January 2014.
