it is an mechanical device is used to distribute air throughout a home or building. It is used with a heat pump or air conditioning system. Or may be install indoor or outside of house. The cooling process begins when fresh air from outside is fed into the air handler. A refrigerate or coolant in the handler cools this fresh air, then fans and blower send this air into the building ductwork. This duct distribute the cool air in different room. A second duck-work also called return ducts because it helps to collect warm exhaust air and transfer it back to the air handler. When warm air reaches the air handling unit, the refrigerant collect the heat from the air and send it to an outdoor compressor. The heat is expelled to the outside. and refrigerant is send back to the air handler to cool more air and repeat the cooling cycle. And this process is reverse during the winter to heat the air in home. An air handler is installed either on rooftop on in an indoor mechanical room.
