P D Flowmeters

Apositive displacement meteris a type of flow meter that requires fluid to mechanically displace components in the meter in order for flow measurement. Positive displacement (PD) flow meters measure the volumetric flow rate of a moving fluid or gas by dividing the media into fixed, metered volumes (finite increments or volumes of the fluid). A basic analogy would be holding a bucket below a tap, filling it to a set level, then quickly replacing it with another bucket and timing the rate at which the buckets are filled (or the total number of buckets for the totalized flow).

Our Goal

Two rotating oval gears with synchronized teeth squeeze a finite amount of fluid through the meter for each revolution. With oval gear flow meters, two oval gears or rotors are mounted inside a cylinder. As the fluid flows through the cylinder, the pressure of the fluid causes the rotors to rotate. As flow rate increases, so does the rotational speed of the rotors.

Ultrasonic Flowmeters

Ultrasonic Flowmeters operating on the Time-of-Flight or Transit Time principle, use sound waves to accurately measure flow, particularly for non-conducting liquids like hydrocarbons and difficult applications like molten sulphur, bitumen, pitch and tar. They are especially suited to large bore pipelines and their accuracy is unaffected by changes in conductivity, density or viscosity. For process applications there is the Fullbore type model with sizes from 25mm to 3000mm.

OPEN CHANNEL FLOW MEASUREMENT :

Monitor flow through open channels, partially full sewer pipes and surcharged pipes without a flume or weir. Ideal for Utilities, storm water, combined effluent, raw sewage, irrigation water and streams.The model II uses a submerged ultrasonic sensor to continuously measure both Velocity and Level in the channel. The sensor is a completely sealed ultrasonic unit with no orifices or ports. It mounts inside a pipe or at the bottom of a rectangular, trapezoid or egg-shaped channel. Calibration is simple: enter the pipe diameter or channel width and the meter computes the flow volume and displays the flow rate.
