Reverse Osmosis is one of the most trusted and widely used technologies in water purification. In a RO system, water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane that removes: Dissolved salts Heavy metals (like lead, arsenic, mercury) Fluoride Bacteria and viruses Industrial and agricultural contaminants The RO process filters water down to 0.0001 microns, making it highly effective in removing particles that are otherwise not visible or detectable. RO is particularly useful in areas where the TDS level in water is high, such as borewell, tanker, or groundwater sources. However, while RO purifies effectively, it also strips water of some beneficial minerals, which leads to the need for remineralization through alkaline filters. ✅ 2. Alkaline Filter – Mineralization and pH Balancing The alkaline filter is an integral component that: Adds essential minerals back into the RO-purified water, such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium. Raises the pH level of water to an optimal range (between 7.5 to 8.5), making it slightly alkaline. Neutralizes acidity in water, which may help reduce acid reflux, improve hydration, and support better metabolism. Alkaline water is often considered beneficial for people with active lifestyles, elderly individuals, and those looking to improve digestion and detoxification. It tastes smoother and more refreshing compared to flat-tasting RO-only water.
