When a fluorescent tube is ignited, light is given off evenly in every direction, much of which is directed upwards into the lid of the aquarium. If a reflector is mounted behind the tube, this stray light is not wasted, but redirected back to where it is required the aquarium, so that the efficiency of the tube is maximised.
Fluorescent lamps are cylindrical in design, this means that light is produced all around the tube and down the length of the lamp. By using the correct reflector, you effectively capture all of the light that is produced from the top and the sides of the lamp. This could be as much as two-thirds of its total output. This light will otherwise be effectively wasted to reflection around the aquarium.
Recommended for use with T5 high output lamps due to higher heat and UV exposure.

is a carbon dioxide distributor, used to increase dissolved CO2 levels in freshwater aquariums when little space is available. It is attached to the aquarium edge, up to a glass thickness of 15 mm (1/2"), with a magnetic holder and ensures a distribution of up to four CO2 bubbles per second. In the aquarium the diffuser operates as a stand-alone solution with a small submerged pump, which draws in the water and thoroughly mixes it with CO2. For small aquariums, a stable osmotic balance is important, because they are particularly sensitive to constantly changing salt concentrations. The Osmolator nano which was specifically designed for this, is a water level controller with only a single sensor and is equipped with a processor-based controller that protects against overfilling. It is suitable for nano aquariums or small aquariums up to 200 liters (55USgal.).
