M-Seal Tapex System of cable jointing follows the time tested technique of rebuilding the cable construction. The system is simple and is based on three components: Self Amalgamating Insulating TapesSelf Amalgamating Semi-Conducting TapesNon Linear Stress Grading PadsThe system can be easily installed by jointers, with minimum skills. The non linear stress grading material in M-Seal Tapex System eliminates the cumbersome and time consuming process of tapering the XLPE insulation at ferrule end in straight through joints. The stripped cable insulation, conductor screen and insulation screen are rebuilt with Self Amalgamating EPDM Tapes. This is the most proven and dependable method of jointing, which extends even beyond 66kV class of cables. The joint is enclosed and encapsulated with a cast resin system to provide mechanical protection and to prevent water ingress. The M-Seal Tapex System has been specially designed for ideal performance in conditions with uncontrolled back fill & presence of sub-soil water. The same system with minor modifications is suitable for jointing XLPE to PILC cables i.e. for making Transition Joints.

The outer semi-conductive layer re-establishes the cable screen.The insulation of the splice body replaces the cable insulation across the entire splice.The integrated refractive stress control provides the proper electric field distribution. 3M Scotch" Tape 13 is applied over the connector and forms the inner conductive electrode.

Straight joints form an integral part of today;s power cable networks. M-Seal Heat shrink (HS) Straight Joints offer reliability and flexibility to meet the demands of cable network operators. The joints are available for up to 36kV. MSeal HS kits provide a lightweight, compact, and environmentally sealed system for splicing extruded dielectric shielded power cables. These features allow the installation of the jointing system in ducts, vaults and direct-burial applications. The joints comprise of heat shrinkable materials which are fast and simple to install. The insulating, screening and electrical field control layers of the joints are made of heat shrinkable cross linked polymeric materials with precisely defined electro mechanical characteristics. The kit has field control material to control electrical stresses over the connectors and at the shield cutbacks. Insulating tubing and semi conducting tubing re-insulate and re-shield the areas over the spliced conductors. Tinned copper mesh and braid re-establish the metallic shielding across the joint. A tough abrasion resistant black jacketing tube or wraparound jacketing sleeve provides the joint with external moisture seals and mechanical protection. For cables requiring additional mechanical protection, specifically designed metallic case o encapsulation by polyurethane compound can be provided.

M Seal heat shrinkable range of LV joints are specifically designed for covering cables in the range of 16 mm2 to 300 mm2 for operating voltages till 1.1 kV.The joints use the heat shrink technology for restoring cable insulation and environmental sealing and the mechanical protection is provided by metallic canisters or by casting polyurethane compound around the joint.The joints provide high electrical insulation values. LV joints for Polymeric PVC cables:The joints for these cables are designed keeping in mind, the need for a reliable, easy to install jointing system which can be spooled and is resistant to aggressive environmental conditions and mechanical abuse. These joints are available in a single kit which can cover a range of cables. LV joints for PILC cables: The kit comprises of similar components as above. In order to keep the cable impregnation in place and moisture out, the kits are provided with additional oil resistant transparent heat shrink tubes and an adhesive lined heat shrinkable sleeve to restore the lead sheath. For sealing of the cable crutch a adhesive lined break out is also provided.
