The Barossa Olive Oil Company Is a family-owned business basedIn Virginia, South Australia. The company roots date back to the 1950s, when the Mitolo family brought their long, proud farming heritage from Italy to the fertile farmland of South Australia. The Mediterranean climate and red loam soils especially suited the varieties of olive trees grown by the family in their native country. Today nearly 100, 000 olive trees grow in the family olive groves. Each variety has been carefully chosen to yield fruit with the distinctive character needed to produce premium extra virgin olive oil. Our olives are handled carefully from harvest to pressing to capture the fruits inherent quality. The oil is cold pressed under the guidance of a Master Oil Maker with a lifetime of experience producing premium olive oil in Italy. Our state-of-the-art facility incorporating the latest European technology is purpose-built alongside the groves to minimise the time between harvest and pressing. All of which ensure that ollo oils are the best tasting premium extra virgin olive oils you can buy. And that is what we are all about.
