Benzy Food & Beverages Private Limited was established in the year 2001. This Venture is located at Anappadi in Ponnani, Malappuram District of Kerala. There are nearly 50 employees in Benco. The sale and distribution processes are carried out throughout India by our executives by Van and also we have appointed all Kerala/Tamilnadu/Karnataka Distributors for all Benco Products, so that our product reaches to all places across India. Other than Benco Coconut Oil there are other products in Benco family like Honey, Halwa, Chips, Dates, Rice bran Oil, Gingelly Oil, and Olive Oil.
Technical Specifications of our Factory:
DRYER UNIT:The well matured raw coconuts are de-husked from their outer cover and they are cut into two pieces along with their shells. These coconut pieces are then dried in a most modern Coconut Dryer consisting of 8 chambers which can dry upto 40000 coconuts in a single lot as a batch to convert them into Copra. Unlike the traditional way of drying coconuts, the Copra made out of Coconut Dryer is 100% free from side effects of fire wood smoke & smell and appears to be very clean and white coloured as if it is dried under direct sunlight. There are approximately 25 labourers employed in the Dryer Unit.
Dryer Operation: Copra (Batch type) dryers are used for drying raw coconuts in one lot as a batch. The raw coconut pieces along with their shells are loaded in a chamber over a platform having perforated sheet or weld mesh bottom to permit easy flow of hot air through materials. The hot air is blown into the plenum chamber below the platform by the powerful blower of the hot air generator and it passes through the coconuts extracting moisture from it. The moisture escapes through the opening on the top of chamber. Batch type dryers are very popular in India for making high quality edible white copra from well matured coconuts. It is approved by the Coconut Development Board of India. The copra making time is reduced to 24 hours of drying instead of usual 5 or 6 days by sun drying - The fuel used for drying can be coconut shell which is a By-Product in copra making or any other normal fuel like copra shell, coconut fibre, electricity, firewood etc. As the hot air generator of dryer has a heat exchanger, it removes smoke and flue gas and only pure hot air is used for drying. Hence the quality of dried product is very high. The dried coconuts are scooped from their shell and are passed for cutting after 36 hours of heating in Drier.
CRUSHING UNIT: Around 5000 kg copra is then stored in Kettle for chopping through Cutter Machine. The chopped pieces of copra are transferred through Conveyor Belt to the Roaster Machine for roasting by steam process. The roasting helps in enhancing the fragrance and enriches the copra with rich proteins, minerals and vitamins that are greatly beneficial for Cosmetic, Medicinal and Health uses. The roasted copra is transferred to 12 Bolt Expeller with two chambers for crushing at two different stages to give maximum output. The oil extracted from three expeller machines is pumped to stainless steel tank, which is then filtered extensively to remove further debris. The By-Product i.e., coconut cake is dumped in containers through conveyor belt.
FILTERING UNIT: The extracted oil is pumped to Conical Tank for three stage of filtering, which also include Micro Filtering for acute filtering. The filtered oil is now ready for packing at our Packing Unit in different types Pouches, Pet / HDP Bottles, Jerry Cans and loose quantities.
