Our hand block printed items have high demand all over the world for their traditional and beautiful designs. as we use vegetable colors to make these hand block printed items, they are not harmful for human body also there are no chemicals used in processing. Hand block printing on a fabric is a fascinating process. India has always been renowned for its printed and dyed cotton since the 12th century. The unique art of hand block printing employs skillfully hand carved wooden blocks / metallic blocks to print designs or patterns on a fabric by hand. Hand block printing though a simple process requires a lot of skills and expertise. The process is painstaking and time consuming, but the result is always unique and beautiful.

process of making hand block printed items
to make hand block printed items, the design is first drawn on wood using a sharp needle and then the desired design is carved using the chisel, hammer, file, nails etc. The printing involves laying the cloth/fabric, which is to be printed, on flat tables and impressions are made using the beautifully carved blocks. In case of direct printing, the block is dipped in the colored dye and impressions are made. In case of resist dyeing, impression of an impermeable material (clay, resin, wax etc) is made on the fabric which is then dyed in the desired shade. The block image remains un-printed and reappears in reverse.

in the olden days, vegetable dyes are mainly used for block printing. But these days synthetic dyes are used for printing. Hand block printed items such as head scarves, quilt covers, tablecloths, prayer mats, pillowcases, handkerchiefs, couch covers, napkins, towels, shirts and turbans are some of the highly priced items. Bagru, a rural indian village in rajasthan is situated around thirty kilometers east of jaipur city. Its traditional process of hand block printing on textiles, with rich natural colors has been known for many centuries. The elaborate and rich colored floral, linear and geometrical prints of bagru occupy a prominent position on the map of india, so also on international level. As a matter of fact, bagru prints are more famous for their exceptional quality of being eco-friendly. Even today, artisans use traditional vegetable dyes for printing the cloth. Like the color blue is made from indigo, greens out of indigo mixed with pomegranate, red from madder root and yellow from turmeric. Usually bagru prints have ethnic floral, linear and geometrical patterns in natural colors. Bagru prints form the essential part of the block printing industry of rajasthan.

however, the natural dyes used, to have an extent, been replaced by chemical formulations, though interestingly the traditional process of mordanting and resist remains the same as do the dyeing stages and methodology.

bagru prints are used mostly for
  • ghagras (skirts)
  • odhnis (scarves)
  • pagris (turbans)
  • some of the fabulous bed covers and other materials
today, the products made with bagru block prints have entered into home furnishings, apparel and accessories.

Iron Ore

We are renowned in Iron Ore trading and have extensive relationships with leading mine owners in India. Our Iron Ore is pure in nature and has high iron content. Coming from reputed miners, this Iron Ore is appreciated for accurate composition. We work aggressively on behalf of our importers and co-ordinate regularly in order to fulfill our commitments as per schedules. Shipments are on FOB, CNF and CIF basis ranging from grades of 57% Fe to 64.5 % Fe. Shipments are through Chennai, Krishnapatnam, Kakinada, Vizag, Paradaip and Haldia Ports in the East Coast and Goa, Mangalore, Belikiri and Karwar Ports in the West coast. Iron ore is the rock which iron is extracted. The iron comes in the forms of magnetite, hematite, goethite, limonite and siderite, and varied colors from grey, yellow, purple and red. Iron ore is also the raw material used to make pig iron, which is one of the main raw materials for making steel. World consumption of iron ore grows 10% per year in the developing countries like China, Japan, Korea, the United States and the European Union. Iron is the world's most commonly used metal. The main constraint is the position of the iron ore relative to market, the cost of rail infrastructure to get it to market and the energy cost required to do so. As pure iron is virtually non-existent on earth, all sources of iron used by human industry are iron oxide minerals, mainly hematite. However, in some situations, more inferior iron ore sources have been used by industrialized societies when access to high-grade hematite ore was not available.

Tantalite Ore

Tantalite is the most widespread tantalum mineral and makes for an important ore of the industrially useful metal. Tantalum is used in alloys for strength and higher melting points, in glass to increase the index of refraction, and in surgical steel, as it is non-reactive and non-irritating to body tissues. It is used mainly in the manufacture of condensers and micro-electronic technology (chips and processors), cell phones and nuclear reactors. It is also used in the production of steel varieties having a high heat tolerances, like those used in the engines of aircraft.

Tantalite forms a series with the mineral columbite. In fact the two are often grouped together as a semi-singular mineral called columbite-tantalite in many mineral guides. A series is where two or more elements can occupy the same places within a crystal structure and their respective percentages can then vary. The two minerals of this series have similar properties since they have the same structure and similar chemistries (tantalum and niobium are very similar elements). Tantalite is the more tantalum rich end member and columbite is the more niobium rich end member. Niobium had been called columbium hence the name columbite.

Tantalite's greatest difference from columbite is its much greater specific gravity, 8.0+ compared to columbite's 5.2. Other properties that vary slightly are color, transparency and streak. Both minerals can be found more or less together in granitic pegmatites rich in lithium and phosphorus minerals with columbite concentrated at the edges of the pegmatite and tantalite enriched in the core.

Tantalite has a series of its own. The iron and manganese amounts vary considerably without much effect on properties. However the two end members are recognized as distinct minerals although collectors have found this to be rather cumbersome and generally prefer tantalite to the non-unique names of ferrotantalite and manganotantalite.

Tantalite has a dimorphic relationship to another mineral called tapiolite. A dimorph is a mineral that has the same chemistry but a different structure. Tapiolite has a tetragonal structure as opposed to the orthorhombic structure of tantalite although it has exactly the same chemistry, (Fe, Mn)(Ta, Nb)2O6.

As mineral specimens, tantalite can be a nice addition to one's collection. Good crystals are both complex and handsome. Although the color selection is usually limited too black to brown the luster is generally good. Manganese rich tantalites can be brown and translucent.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is one plant that can truly be called the wonder plant.
Aloe vera's use can be traced back 6, 000 years to early Egypt, where the plant was depicted on stone carvings. Known as the "plant of immortality, " aloe was presented as a burial gift to deceased pharaohs. Native to Northern Africa, Aloe vera (syn. A. barbadensis Mill., A. vulgaris Lam.) is a stemless or very short-stemmed succulent plant growing to 80-100 cm tall, spreading by offsets and root sprouts. The leaves are lanceolate, thick and fleshy, green to grey-green, with a serrated margin. The flowers are produced on a spike up to 90 cm tall, each flower pendulous, with a yellow tubular corolla 23 cm long. Clinical evealuations have revealed that the pharmacological active ingredients are concentrated in both the gel and rind of the aloe vera leaves. These active ingredients have been shown to have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Various Uses of Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is being used topically to heal wounds and for various skin conditions, and orally as a laxative, since centuries. Today, apart from the people traditional uses, people also take aloe vera orally to treat a variety of conditions, including diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, and osteoarthritis. People use aloe topically for osteoarthritis, burns, and sunburns. Aloe vera has been used to treat various skin conditions such as cuts, burns and eczema.

Aloe vera gel can be found in hundreds of skin products, including lotions and sunblocks. Cosmetic manufacturers add sap or other derivatives from Aloe vera to makeup products, tissues, moisturizers, soaps, sunscreens, shampoos and lotions.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved aloe vera as a natural food flavoring. In Japan, Aloe Vera is commonly used as an ingredient in commercially available yogurt. Many companies in East Asia produce Aloe Vera beverages. Pashtuns in the Hazara region of the North West Frontier Province have been using Aloe Vera for centuries to improve physical endurance, probably due to the high nutrient content of the gel. People in Rajasthan, India prepare Aloe Vera as a vegetable with fenugreek seeds. Similarly, people in Tamil Nadu, another state of India prepare a curry using Aloe Vera eat along with Indian bread or rice.

Among the recent uses of Aloe vera includes using it as a Food preservative. Researchers at the University of Miguel Hernndez in Alicante, Spain, have developed a gel based on Aloe vera that prolongs the conservation of fresh produce, like fresh fruit and legumes. This gel is tasteless, colorless and odorless. This natural product is a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic preservatives such as sulfur dioxide. The study showed that grapes at 1C coated with this gel could be preserved for 35 days against 7 days for untreated grapes.

Aloe vera Gel and Juice are different?
People often assumed incorrectly that Aloe vera Gel and Juice are the same thing, which they are not. Let us understand the Aloe leaf structure first. It is made up of four layers - Rind, Sap, Mucilage and Gel. Rind is the outer protective layer; Sap is a layer of bitter fluid which helps protect the plant from animals; Mucilage and the Gel, which is the inner part of the leaf that is filleted out to make Aloe Vera gel.

The term Juice refers to the bitter sap or Latex that resides just under the skin of the leaf and contains a potent laxative - Aloin. This juice should not be used by human unless desired or recommended by a doctor.

What does it contain
Aloe Vera contains over 75 known active ingredients (and probably many more). Also included are 19 of the 20 amino acids required by the human body and 7 of the 8 essential amino acids (that the body cannot make), as well as vitamins and minerals. There are 20 "critical" Amino Acids in human metabolism, but the body can only make 12, the other 8 have to be obtained from food. These are Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Valine, and Tryptophan.

Aloe Vera contains also contain useful enzymes like Amylase, Bradykinase, Catalase, Cellulase, Lipase, Oxidase, Alkaline Phosphatase, Proteolytiase, Creatine Phosphokinase, Carboxypeptidase. Most of these are beneficial to human metabolism.

Lignin gives Aloe Vera its penetrating powers, but is not considered to have any other benefit.

Aloe Vera contains important minerals like Calcium, Chromium, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium, Phosphorous, Sodium, and Zinc.

As most of us know that the mono-saccharides are the familiar glucose and fructose. It is believed that the more complex long-chain sugars are the poly-saccharides give Aloe Vera its unique healing and immuno-stimulating properties.

Aloe Vera contains useful vitamins. These include A (beta-carotene and retinol), B1 (thiamine), B2 ( riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), B12 (cyanocobalamin), C (ascorbic acid), E (tocopherol) and Folic Acid.

Salicylic Acid, a substance similar to aspirin that can help reduce fever and inflammation is also found in Aloe vera. It also contains Saponins and Sterols. Saponins are natural soapy substances that have both cleansing and antiseptic properties while Sterols are naturally occurring plant steroids with analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic properties.

Health Benefits of Aloe Vera
"Extracts of Aloe Vera first became popular as a proven skin healer. Aloe is said to improve collagen repair, heal burns and prevent wrinkles. It is a powerful detoxifier, antiseptic and tonic for the nervous system. It also has immune-boosting and anti-viral properties. Ivory Handicrafts
