Slump Test Apparatus has a slump cone which is filled with freshly mixed concrete and is tamped with a tamping bar in three or four layers. The top of the concrete is leveled off with the top of the slump cone, the cone is lifted vertically up and the slump of the sample is immediately measured. The base has cleats on its underside to help dig into the ground surface.

The CBR test is used for determining the relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics under known surcharge weight of base, sub- base and sub grade soil for the design of roads, pavements and runways.

The apparatus consists of
LOAD FRAME: Load Frame motorized capacity 50kN (5000kgf) having 3 rates of strains i.e. 1.25, 1.5 and d 2.5 mm/ minutes. It consists of a screw jack with a detachable handle. The lower platen moves up and down. The top bracket is adjustable for vertical clearance and has an adaptor for connecting standard Proving Rings. A dial gauge mounting bracket is provided on one of t h e two pillars. It is suitable for operation on 220 volts, 50Hz, single phase A.C supply. The apparatus is supplied with complete accessories.

The Consolidation Apparatus comprises of a fixed ring type of consolidometer cell for testing specimens of 60mmx 20mm diameter thick. Suitable for varying sizes from 50mm x100mm diameter specimens. The Consolidation Apparatus is supplied with a set of weights to give a total pressure of 10kg/cm2 (besides a seating load of 0.05 kg/cm2 )on the specimen, but an additional set of weights are required to reach the full capacity of 20 kg/cm2 which will be supplied at extra cost.
