The company has the competence in advising its clients on policy matters of the Government of India with regard to export and import trade, classification, tariff, etc.

Due to the large volume of traffic handled, the Division has developed a pool of dedicated leased trailers. Overall this division has control of about 250 trailers.

Chakiat has entered into a joint venture with Gateway Distriparks (Kerala) Limited and established a modern container freight station at Cochin.

CHAKIAT maintains container yards for storage, handling and maintenance of empty ISO containers. Major Shipping Lines use our services for storage and allocation to their respective clients.

Chakiat is a minority stakeholder along with DP World at the Container Terminal established at Vallarpadam in Cochin.

The volume and diverse nature of shipments handled by our various divisions inspired us to set up a freight forwarding division. This division has the ability to get competitive freight rates from the shipping lines.

The company has a specialized group handling over dimensional and heavy lift parcels. Chakiat has experience in handling shipments of steam turbines, earth moving equipment, Over dimensional pipes and Aeronautical equipment, etc.

We are providing iso tank operations. The company manages a fleet of approximately 300 iso tanks. This fleet is used to serve a group of dedicated customers in the middle east and south east asia.

Chakiat has represented the following shipping lines in various ports in India during the last 6 decades. The company has also experience in handling charter vessels at various Indian Ports.
