Northern Heavy Industries Group Co. Ltd (hereinafter referred to as NHI Group) is as a solely state owned enterprise established in 2006 after a merger of SHMG (Shenyang Heavy Machinery Group) and SMMG (Shenyang Mining Machinery Group). Shenyang Mining Machinery Group was established in 1921, with the name of Daheng Iron Plant. Shenyang Heavy Machinery Group was established in 1937, with the name of Sumitomo Shenyang Plant, which was the first heavy machinery plant of China. NHI Group headquarter is located in Shenyang, P.R China, covering a total area of 1,050,000 square meters. The company has 9369 employees including 1412 engineers. With strong research and development capabilities, the company has 2 national level technical centers, 14 research institutes for specialized product lines, and 1 mechanical & electrical design Institute. NHI pocesses more than 200 patents and proprietary technologies with 180 sets of new products designed and manufactured as the first one of the category in China and 104 products or technologies that won national awards. With all the four qualifications recognized by ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 Environment Management System, GB/T28001 Professional Health Safety Management System and ISO10012 Measurement Management System, NHI Group has well integrated facilities for designing, testing, inspection and measurement in additions to strong manufacturing capabilities of steelmaking, casting, forging, heat treatment, welding, machining and assembly. The major products include tunnel boring equipments, metallurgy equipments, mining equipments, coal machineries, power equipments, building material equipments, port equipments and environment protection equipments.
