Coco baskets are flexible high strength baskets ideal for indoor and outdoor plants of any sizes. They are highly durable and even immersed in water . They can be used as a protector for the plants which needs more care in the nursery and could be carried to the sites where it is difficult for the vegetation to take place.

It consists of long fibres, medium length fibres, short fibres, baby fibres and pith (coir dust or coir waste). The process of separating the long, medium and short fibres from baby fibre and pith is called coir fibre extraction process. Fibre Quality: Fibre quality is determined based on the length of the fibre and how well the pith is removed from the fibre. Soaking Process: Soaking husks in water is the main criterion that determines fibre quality. By soaking, the hard portion of the husks get softened; the fibres get loosened and hence fibre extraction becomes easier, fibres don’t get cut a lot thereby sustaining fibre length and pith removal from the fibre is improved to a significant extent. Applications: Based on the fibre quality, coir fibre is used to make 1. yarns used for weaving geo-textiles, floor mats and matting 2. curled ropes used in mattresses and couches 3. brushes 4. coir logs used to prevent soil erosion 5. High EC Coco Peat is a waste product, which is obtained during the extraction of coir fibre from husk. This High EC Coco Peat is very light, highly compressible and highly hygroscopic. It is used as a soil conditioner, surface mulch/ rooting medium and desiccant. Composted coir pith is known for its excellent organic manure used for indoor plants as well as for horticulture crops. Coco chips: If the husk is no split into fibers and coir pith, but broken, It will create coco chips. This coco chips is compressed to produce 5 Kg and 1 Kg coco chips. Coco chips measures 8 mm to 12 mm. Chips are extremely suitable as an additive in a potting soil.
