Double Flap Valve

Double Cone Flap valves are used for controlled feeding as well as achieving air lock sealing. These valves consist of two independent Cone Flap valves mounted one upon other with their opening and closing alternated and synchronized to ensure that only one valve opens at a time. DEMECH manufacture these valves to suit the opening sizes and required through-put rate. The through-put of these valves depend on the holding volume of the upper valve chamber and the rate of operations. These are very slow operating valves as the operation cycle rate does not usually exceed beyond 6 cycles per minutes. Thus these valves have a batch feeding pattern rather than continuous feeding. Selection of Cone or Flap depends on the characteristics of material to be handled and system requirement like pressure sealing. Cone valve has a better sealing than the Flap valve. However, in smaller size valves the Cone can act as an obstruction in the flow resulting in clogging of the small opening. The Cone valves usually have round opening whereas the Flap valves can have square.

Ash Handling Equipment

DEMECH provides variety of systems to handle Bottom Ash or Bed Ash generated by the solid fuel fired boilers. The system has to be selected based on many factors like type of boiler, size of boiler, amount of Bottom ash generated, method of final handling etc. Factors like availability of other resources like water, land etc. also need to be considered while selecting the system. Wet Scrapper Conveyor

SSC provides an ideal solution for handling very hot Bottom Ash from Coal fired boilers and Hot Kiln Dust from Steel Plants. These materials which are in red hot condition when discharged are difficult to safely handle by any other means than SSC. In case of Coal fired boilers DEMECH system requires less water thereby saving water and also needs lesser headroom below the furnace. The hot Economizer Ash and the Pyrite rejects (coal mill rejects) can also be discharged to the SSC installed for handling Bottom Ash, in turn saving of a problematic separate system for these materials.

Cast Basalt Pipe

Basalt is a volcanic rock possessing ideal properties like inertness coupled with excellent resistance to corrosion and abrasion. After selective quarrying the rock is melted at a temperature of around 1500 degree C and cast into molds or spun into cylinders. The castings so produced are then subjected to heat treatment cycles in special kilns to produce re-crystallized basalt. The product thus produced inherits inertness of parent materials. Its microcrystalline, non-porous texture being denser and more homogenous than raw basalt, it acquires exceptionally high abrasion resistance.
