The Crankshaft, Sometimes causually abbreviated to crank, is the part of an engine wich translates reciprocating linear piston motion into rotation. It typically connects to a fiywheel, to reduce the pulsation characteristic of the four-stroke cycle.

A Lifter is a cylindrical component that ride on the cam shaft to actuate the intake and exhaust valves.for pushrod engines, the lifter pushes the pushrod up into the rocker arhtm and opens the valve. for overhead cam engine, the lifter pushes directly on the valve tip.

Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.
