Insoform is a Polyvinyl Formal based polymer. It is highly versatile, having various outstanding properties, which makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. It has good resistance to chemicals and has excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties and hence it is frequently used in formulations containing other ingredients such as phenolic resins. Insoform enhances the properties of these formulations to a great extent. This material is available in four different molecular weights and different viscosities to suit various end usages. USAGE The most important use of Insoform is as a main ingredient in PVA based wire enamels which have excellent resistance to transformer oil. These enamels provide outstanding toughness, flexibility and abrasion resistance. It also finds usage in adhesives and surface coatings in combination with other resins.
