  • Exterior glue plywood
  • Non-water soluble cut-back adhesive
  • Vinyl or other resilient tile
  • Plastic laminate
  • Cement backer board
  • Steel
  • Cement plaster
  • Cement terrazzo

Method of Application

  • Preparation of substrates
  • Before grouting check that tiles have been laid correctly and are anchored perfectly to the substrate Substrates must be perfectly dry.
  • Fill joints in accordance with the recommended waiting time indicated on the relative data sheet for the adhesive used.
  • For mortar substrates, wait at least 7/14 days depending on screed thickness, ambient weather conditions and on the level of absorption of the covering and the substrate.
  • Any water or moisture rising can cause vapour pressure to accumulate. which may in tum loosen the tiles on account of the complete inabsorbency of the grout or of the tiles themselves
  • Join. must be free from any excess adhesive, even if already hardened, further more they must be of an even depth on the whole width of the tile covering, thereby ensuring
  • maximum chemical resistance
  • Any dust and flaky parts must be removed from joints by carefully cleaning them with electric dust extraction equipment
  • Before grouting, check the cleanability of the tile covering. as porous or highly microporous surfac. may make cleaning difficult. It is advisable to perform a preliminary test on tiles not to be laid or in a small, concealed area. In this cases we recommend treating the covering with specific protective products, being careful to avoid applying it to the join.

Preparation

  • DUPOXY is prepared by mixing together Parts A and B from the bottom upwards. using a low-rev (400/min.) helicoidal agitator, respect the preset ratio of 5 : I of containers. Part A = 2 parts by weight 8/ Part B -= 1 part by weight ( two parts are pre batched U their respective containers )
  • Pour Part B into the bucket containing Part A, being careful to mix the two parts uniformly until a smooth even coloured mixture is obtained. Only mix an amount of grout that can be used within I hour at +23 °C, 5096 RM.
  • The containers of DUPDXY must be stored at a temperature of +20°C for at least 2/3 days prior to use. Higher temperatures will result in the mixture being too fluid a. hardening too quickly, while lower temperatures will make the mixture harder to apply and will slow down setting, which is inhibited at temperatures of below + 10 °C

Application

  • DUPDXY must be applied evenly on the tile covering with a hard rubber spreader.
  • Seal the joints by completely grouting them, applying the filler diagonally to the tiles.
  • Remove most of the excess grout immediately using the spreader, leaving only a thin film on the tile.
  • Right after this start to clean up the tile surface.
  • On completion, to clean the tiles use a thick, hard and large-sized sponge damped in clean water to avoid removing grout from the joints. Use circular movements to soften the film of grout on the tiles and finish cleaning the joint surface. Specific high-dispersion polymers ensure all grout residues are removed using only a small amount of water, which would otherwise impair the final chemical resistances.
  • Rinse frequently to ensure clean water is used at all times, using appropriate trays and grills with cleaning rollers, if necessary, replace the sponge or felt cleaning pad when saturated with grout.
  • Finish cleaning up by dragging the sponge diagonally across Me tiles to avoid going into the joints. Any remaining grout marks can be removed before they harden with a 10/20 % water-alcohol soludon

Precautions & Limitations

  • Do not use on joints less than 2 mm or more than 15 mm in width,
  • Do not use on porous flooring for which more specific or alternative chemical resistances are required compared with those listed in the chemi. resistances table,
  • Do not use to fill elastic expansion or fractionizing joints or on substrates that are not fully dry and subject to moisture rising.

Health & saftey precautionsAhvays use protective gloves and eyewear both during mixing and during application avoid any contact with the eye. If in case happens do not rub, clean with plenty of fresh water immediately.

PreparationFoundation Surface The substrate surface must be free from oil, grease or any loosely adherent material. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitence, it must be cut back to a sound base. Bolt Pockets Depending on the size of the bolt pockets, 50-100% cleaned 10 mm sound aggregates by weight of grout consumption may be incorporated to economies on grout and also to keep the heat of hydration low. When the thickness exceeds 100 mm-150mm our technical department may be contacted for advise. There must be at least 12 hours gap between bolt pocket and under base place grouting sequence. Pre-soaking Several hours prior to placing, the concrete substrates should be saturated with clean water. Immediately before grouting takes place any free water should be removed with particular care being taken to blow out all bolt holes and pockets. Base plate It is essential that this is clean and free from oil, grease or scale. Air pressure relief holes should be provided to allow venting of any isolated high spots.

Levelling shimsIf these are to be removed after the grout has hardened, they should be treated with a thin layer of grease.

FormworkThe formwork should be constructed to be leakproof. This can be achieved by using foam rubber strip or mastic sealant beneath the constructed formwork and between joints. In some cases it is practical to use a sacrificial semi-dry sand and cement formwork. The formwork should include outlets for pre-soaking. Unrestrained surface areaThis must be kept to a minimum. Generally the gap width between the perimeter formwork and the plate edge should not exceed 150mm on the pouring side and 50mm on the opposite side. It is advisable, where practical, to have no gap at the flank sides.

MixingFor best results a mechanically powered grout mixer should be used. When quantities up to 50kg are used, a slow speed drill fitted with a high shear mixer is suitable. Larger quantities will require a high shear vane mixer. Do not use a colloidal impeller mixer. To enable the grouting operation to be carried out continuously, it is essential that sufficient mixing capacity and labour are available. The use of a grout holding tank with provision to gently agitate the grout may be required Consistency of grout mix :The quantity of clean water required to be added to a 25kg bag to achieve the desired consistency is given below:

Flowable4.75 liters The selected water content should be accurately measured into the mixer. The total content of the Ducon FGP 1grout bag should be slowly added and zontinuous mixing should take place for 5 minutes. This will ensure that the grout has a smooth even consistency.

PlacingAt 30C place the grout within 20 minutes of mixing to gain full benefit of the expansion process. Ducon FGP 1can be placed in thicknesses up to 100mm in a single pour when used as an under plate grout. For thicker sections it is necessary to fill out Ducon FGP 1grout with well graded silt free aggregate to minimize heat build up. Typically a 10mm aggregate is suitable. 50 - 100% aggregate by weight of Ducon FGP 1 can be added. Any bolt pockets must be grouted prior to grouting between the substrate and the base plate. Continuous grout flow is essential. Sufficient grout must be prepared before starting. The time taken to pour a batch must be regulated to the time to prepare the next one.

Typical hopper systemRemovable hopper : For large pours the grout may be hand placed or pumped into a removable hopper ( trough). Pouring should be from one side of the void to eliminate any air or pre soaked water becoming trapped under the base plate.  It is advisable to pour the grout across the shortest distance of travel. The grout head must be maintained at all times so that a continuous grout front is achieved. Where large volumes have to be placed Ducon FGP 1 grout may be pumped. A heavy duty diaphragm pump is recommended for this purpose. Screw feed and piston pumps may also be suitable.

CuringOn completion of the grouting operation, exposed areas should be thoroughly cured. This should be done by the use of Hydrobuild CC Wax curing membrane, continuous application of water and/or wet hessian.

CleaningDucon FGP 1 grout should be removed from tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use. Cured material can be removed mechanically.

DU GO is Professional, single-part, superior-technology adhesive slurry with high levels of adhesion and deformability, suitable for high-resistance laying with tacking technique or slurry key on fresh, cement- based mortars of homogeneous tiles, ceramic tiles of all types large-format paving slabs and stable natural stone.

Areas of Application

  • Adhesive slurry specially made for cement mortar bed fixing all kind of poorly absorbent floor or non-absorbent floor.
  • Adjustability ≥30 min.
  • Floors, for internal and external use
  • Suitable for ceramic, porcelain and single-fired tiles and stable natural stone

Features & Benefits

  • For high-resistance laying with tacking technique
  • Single-part
  • Superior-technology adhesive slurry

Method of ApplicationThe screed must be compacted and braced to make it perfectly planar and suitable for laying covering materials. The degree of mechanical resistance must be adequate for the use of the flooring. Special care must be taken over the dosage of the cement and in the selection of the granulometry of inert fillers in order to reduce the water/cement ratio and consequent hygrometric shrinkages.

Preparation and Application

  • DU GO must be applied with the tacking method directly on the cement based screed while it is still fresh. Spread a uniforamly distributed quantity of product to create thickness of at least 2 mm thick.
  • Moisten the tacking with a sprinkler and proceed to lay the covering materials.
  • Beat down on the flooring with the appropriate equipment, moving in a direction perpendicular to that followed during laying and constantly making sure that the tiles have
  • adhered properly to the substrate.
  • Moisten a second time if necessary. Depending on customary technique and preference, hydration of the tacking can also be performed after laying the tiles

Slurry-key applications

  • Mix DU GO in a container with clean water until a fluid, lump-free slurry key is obtained.
  • Apply a uniform layer of at least 2 mm thick on the screed, using a smooth spreader or a trowel.
  • Lay the covering materials and regulate with a rubber hammer to facilitate adhesion to the substrate without re-moistening.

Precautions & Limitations

  • Do not use on screeds which have begun setting and are subject to continuous moisture rising.
  • Perform laying and beating of tiles while the screed is still fresh
  • Protect against direct rain and freezing for at least 24 hours • Respect the structural joints
  • The temperature, ventilation and absorption of the substrate and covering
  • Materials may vary the workability and setting times of the tacking adhesive.

Coverage

  • This shall depend on the nature and flatness of the surface and the method of application, but at 3 mm thickness it is approximately 2-3 Kg/m' when using a solidbed
  • trowel. For good coverage, it is vitally important that all surfaces should be clean, smooth, plumb, level and free from defects and undulations.

Method of ApplicationIn general, cement-based substrates must be free from dust, oil and grease, dry and free from any rising damp, with no loose, flaky or imperfectly anchored partssuch as residual traces of cement, lime and paint, which must be totally removed. The substrate must be stable and without cracks, must have already completed curing hygrometric shrinkage and must present suitable mechanical resistance levels. Undulated areas must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing products.
Substrates with weak surface consistencyScreeds and plasters which present a weak crystalline structure in the initial mm of thickness and which can be easily abraded must be consolidated by means of Hydro Prime, the professional, water-base depth consolidant, to be applied with one or more coatings and according to the instructions, until a surface has been obtained which isstill absorbent but compact.
High - absorption substrates  :On screeds and plasters which are compact but highly absorbent, in warm climates and with direct ventilation, it is advisable to apply in advance Hydro Prime, a professional, concentrated, waterbase, surface insulation product, with one or more coatings and according to the instructions, to reduce water absorption and to improve spreadability of the adhesive.

Preparation

  • Prepare Pure in a clean container, first of all pouring in a quantity of water equal to approximately . of that which will be required.
  • Gradually add Pure to the water in the container, mixing the paste from the bottom upwards with a low-rev ( 400 RPM /min.) helicoidal agitator. Then add more water until the desired consistency is obtained, the mixture must be homogeneous and without any lumps. For best results and to mix larger quantities of adhesive, a stirring device with vertical blades and slow rotation is recommended.
  • Specific polymers with high-dispersion properties ensure that Pure is immediately ready for use. The amount of water to be added, indicated on the packaging. It is possible to obtain mixtures with a more or less thixotropic consistency.

Type of applicationImportant :Adding extra water does not improve the workability of the product, may cause shrinkage in the plastic phase of drying and result in less effective final performance with a reduction in compressive strength and adhesion to the substrate.

ApplicationPure should be applied with a suitable toothed spreader, to be chosen according to the size and characteristics of the rear surface of the tiles. It is best to use the smooth part of the trowel to spread a fine initial layer, pressing down hard so as to obtain maximum adhesion to the substrate and to regulate water absorption, after which the thickness can be adjusted as required by tilting the spreader at an angle. Spread the adhesive over a surface area which will allow for laying of the surface materials within the indicated open time and check for suitability of the adhesive at regular intervals, the open time may vary considerably during the same operation, depending on various factors such as exposure to sunlight, air currents, absorbency of the substrate, temperature and relative humidity of the atmosphere. Press down each tile to allow for complete, uniform contact with the adhesive. In the case of laying in environments subject to heavy traffic or in outdoor locations, the double-spread technique must be used, to ensure 100% coverage of the rear of the tiles. In general, ceramic tiles do not require preliminary treatment, however these materials should properly anchored to the substrate or which may modify the absorption characteristics of the tiles.

Special applicationsReplacement of mixing water with Tuffex AD, the professional elastomer latex, provides the adhesive with greater capacity of transversal deformation and greater resistance to water and tensile stress without modifying the open time and adjustment interval. Pure with addition of tuffex AD exceeds the level of performance required by EN 12004 class C2 E. Please consult the Dubond Products (India) Pvt Ltd site to define use of this product for particular purposes such as: laying on deformable flooring and walls in plasterboard, laying on heat-radiant slabs, laying of large-format paving slabs in outdoor applications and in permanently humid environments, direct bonding on substrates in smoothed concrete with reduced water absorption.

  • The substrate must be stable and without cracks, must have already completed curing hygrometric shrinkage and must present suitable mechanical resistance levels. Undulated areas must be corrected with suitable smoothing and finishing products.

Non-absorbent  substrtes

  • Smooth, non-absorbent substrates which are compact and wellanchored must be prepared by cleaning ith products suitable for the type of dirt present.
  • If chemical cleaning cannot be carried out, proceed with mechanical abrasion by means of shot-blasting or carification of the superficial layer and, if necessary, correct the surface with suitable levelling products.

High - absorpation substartesOn screeds and plasters which are highly absorbent and have dusty flaky surfaces it is advisable to apply one or more coats of HydroPrime a professional, concentrated water-base, surface insulation product, in accordance with the instructions, to reduce water absorption and toimprove spreadability of the adhesive

PreparationPrepare Turbo in a clean container, first of all pouring in a quantity of water equal to approximately . of that which will be required. Gradually add Turbo to the water in the container, mixing the paste from the bottom upwards with a low-rpm ( 400/min.) helicoidal agitator. Then add more water until the desired consistency is obtained. The mixture must be homogeneous and without any lumps. For best results, and to mix larger quantities of adhesive, a stirring device with vertical blades and slow rotation is ecommended. Specific polymers with high-dispersion properties ensure that Turbo is immediately ready for use. The amount of water to be added, indicated on the packaging, is an approximate value and will vary . It is possible to obtain mixtures with a more or less thixotropic consistency, depending on the type of application. Adding extra water does not improve the workability of the product, and may cause shrinkage in the plastic phase of drying and result in less effective final performancewith a reduction in compressive strength and adhesion to the substrate.

Application

  • Turbo should be applied with a suitable toothed spreader, to be chosen according to the size and characteristics of the rear surface of the tiles. It is best to use the smooth part of the trowel to spread a fine initial layer, pressing down hard so as to obtain maximum adhesion to the substrate and to regulate waterabsorption, after which the thickness can be adjusted as required by tilting thespreader at an angle.
  • Spread the adhesive over a surface area which will allow for laying of the covering materials within the indicated open time, and check for suitability of the adhesive at regular intervals. The open time may vary considerably even during the application, depending on various factors such as exposure to sunlight, air currents, absorbency of the substrate, temperature and relative humidity of the atmosphere.
  • Press down each tile to allow for complete, uniform contact with the adhesive. In the case of laying in environments subject to heavy 2 traffic, in outdoor locations, on underfloor heating systems or with materials to be smoothed on-site and with formats > 900 cm , the double-spread technique must be used, which ensures laying procedures on fresh adhesive, 100% coverage of the rear of the tiles and maximum adhesion.
  • In general, ceramic tiles do not require preliminary treatment, however these materials should be checked to ensure they are free from traces of residual dust or materials not properly anchored to the surface

Special applicationsPartial replacement of mixing water with Tuffex AD professional elastomeric latex enhances the adhesive’s capacity for transversal deformation. The real necessity for deformability of the laying system must be verified, as use of an excessively deformable adhesive together with highly-rigid substrates and laying materials may cause breakage and early unexpected yielding of the covering materials when placed under heavy and concentrated strain or loads. To define the percentage of Tuffex AD to be added, on the basis of the various factors related to the system, consult the Dubond Products (India) Pvt Ltd’s official web site.

Usage InstructionSurface Preparation The base surface should be properly cured prior to application of AAC Block Adhesive. The surface must be cleaned thoroughly, with no loose particles or dust. The surface must be structurally sound, clean and free from dirt, oil, grease, efflorescence and any other contaminant which could impair the natural bond. Surface defects such as cracks, holes or voids should be repaired prior to application. Mixing It is very important that AAC Block Adhesive is mixed with water properly and thoroughly before use. It is advisable to use a mechanical stirrer for uniform and thorough mixing to save time, labour and for maximum workability. Take a clean vessel/bucket, add water to it and put required quantity of AAC Block Adhesive in it. Mixing Ratio - Clean potable water (approximately 25%-30%) of the weight of the powder is required to be mixed depending upon the thickness of the product to be applied. Water is to be incrementally added in stages to get a smooth, uniform and workable mix. Allow ample of time for initial mixing. Ensure that no powder is left unmixed at the bottom of the vessel. The AAC Block Adhesive is now ready for pplication.

Application ProcedureLayout the wall in which AAC Block Adhesive is to be used and mark openings like door, windows, any architectural appurtenances etc. Put a thin layer of AAC Block Adhesive in the thickness of 3 to 5mm on the clean and leveled surface using proper trowel on which the block work is to be carried out. Place the block on the laid AAC Block Adhesive in proper line and level. After placing the first block apply the AAC Block Adhesive of same thickness on both the sides of the block continuously keeping a check on the line and level. Clean the excess material, if any immediately. Continue the procedure for the entire block work.

CoverageUnder normal conditions the coverage of Dubond's AAC Block Adhesive is approx. 11.15 sq. mtr. with average thickness of 3mm for a bag of 40 kgs. The coverage area however will depend upon the quality of the substrate and thickness of the material used. For best results, proper tools for mixing and application is advised which will result in higher coverage, savings in time and manpower.

PrecautionsThough it contains non-toxic materials but still care should be taken to avoid dust inhalation while mixing and handling. In case of contact with eyes or mouth, wash with plenty of clean water. Keep it in a safe dry place which is out of reach of children. Persons who are allergic to cement should take proper precautions before use.

DUBOND’S HYDROSHIELD S is a silicone concentrate that is based on silane/siloxane. It is colorless, hence maintains natural color of the substrate. Dilute solutions of HYDROSHIELD S in organic solvents serve as high-quality general purpose water repellents for impregnating and priming mineral and highly alkaline substrates. After application, HYDROSHIELD S reacts with the atmospheric moisture or pure water in the substrate, there by generating the active ingredient and liberating acetate. The active ingredient greatly lowers the water absorbency of the substrate. Since neither pores nor capillaries are clogged, the substrate retains a Solvent Based Oligomeric Siloxane Water Repellent Product Damage to facade is always due to moisture, rain and surface water. Salt water damage occurs in porous building materials, only when moisture is present. The sources of salivation are deicing salts, rising dampness and reaction between the binder used in facade materials and paints. In addition to that, building materials have an inherent salt content. The moisture transports this salts to the surface of the substrate where it crystallization out. Salts are not only deposits on the surface but it cause the hydration and crystallization pressure. This builts up finally led to embrittlement and crumbling away of the surface. Acid rain i.e. sulphuric acid is by product in the form of sulphur dioxide by burning of industrial fuels, bound to particle of dust and droplets of water, is the primary cause for corrosion. Sulphuric acid reacts with the carbonates, the binder in mortars, lime washes, concrete, stones etc. Attack by moss and micro-organisms such as fungi and algae which are consequence of protected wetting of facade surfaces. The above mentioned facade damages can be diminished by impregnation with water repellant agents. The main aim of this is to form “hydrophobic” or dry zone on surface. The dry zone are not ideal for biotopes mosses, fungi, algae. The silicon molecules of Hydro shield do not clog the pores and so the surface retains its permeability to water vapour and “breathes”. Therefore treated buildings do not suffer from condensation damage. Buildings treated with Hydro shield may absorb very little water and can release it again

ApplicationsVisible cracks must be sealed by Du Flex PS 600, polysulphide, or polyurethane sealant and primer. This sealants are not attacked by the repellent Hydro shield. Brush application is the simplest method Flat brushes or rollers can be used for application, while solution is applied, as the success or failure of such treatment depends on this factor. Surface penetration is most important step before application to get best results and avoid failure The surface must be free from any loose materials, crumbling powdery encrusted walls, fungus, moss, oil, grease and mould release agents. Clean the surface using scrappers and wire brushes Then clean the walls with high pressure water, wait for 2 days for the surface to dry The walls must be dry before the application Use of acidic and alkaline chemicals, detergents, cationic surfactants should be avoided It is advisable to wait for 28 days for curing the fresh masonary / new concrete.

Precautions & LimitationsHYDRO SHIELD S is also suitable as primer for exterior paints. It is NOT suitable for rendering gypsum water repellent.

Packing and Coverage2 HYDRO SHIELD S covers approx. 3 to 4 M / liter. Minimum 2 coats are recommended (Depends on the porosity of substrate.

Hydro Coat Osmocem is a mortar with crystallizing osmotic action for water proofing concrete and masonry work against rising and descending damp. It is a single component, thixotropic and resistant to positive and negative hydraulic pressures. Hydro Coat Osmocem reacts with moisture and creates a continuous barrier of insoluble crystals. The capillaries are permanently blocked to the passage of water. However, vapour may pass through allowing structure to breathe. Rate and penetration of minerals depends on presence of moisture, free lime and density of concrete.

Areas of ApplicationFoundations, hoistway pits Underground environments and car parks Exterior foundation walls, also with negative hydrostatic thrust Irrigation channels, drains, tubs Water (also drinking water) collection tanks and reservoirs Tunnels, galleries, siphons and dams- viaducts and bridges Fresh concrete castings or prefabricated concrete, structural plasters

Features & BenefitsSingle-component, low environmental impact Thixotropic, can be sprayed or applied with a trowel to vertical and horizontal surfaces Excellent protection of concrete structures, safeguarding against the ingress of Carbon dioxide, chlorides, sulphates, from the action of water containing aggressive carbon dioxide and from freeze/thaw cycles Resistant to environmental chemical aggression and suitable for all exposure classes in accordance with Environment. Waterproofing product for underground concrete structures under positive and negative thrust / preassure. Certified as suitable for the containment of drinking water Resistant to abrasion.

Method of ApplicationThe substrate must be perfectly cured, free from hygrometric shrinkage, solid (i.e. free of weak or easily removable parts) and free from oil, grease and paint.Check that the concrete contains no traces of parting compound. The most suitable cleaning methods are sandblasting, shot peening or washing with pressurised water. When working on weakened parts, when parts of the substrate are missing and also in the case of gravel beds, the substrate must be restored with Dubond Ducem before application, the substrates must be wet well but must not include any stagnant water In waterproofing operations for exterior foundation walls and underground structures.

Preparation of substratesPrepare Hydro Coat Osmocem by mixing 10 kg of powder with approximately 3-4 litres of clean water according to the chosen type of application (spreader or brush). Mix with a low-rev, stirring device for approximately 2 minutes until a mixture with a fluid and homogenous consistency is obtained . Pour almost all of the water required into a clean container and gradually add the powder during the mixing operation until the desired consistency is obtained. Leave the mixture to rest for approximately 5 minutes to allow for complete hydration of the micro-components and mix again for approximately 20 seconds before use.

Application

  • Ensure that structure is sound and free from dirt, soil, oil release agents, laitance and any other foreign materials which may impair the bond, penetration and/ or the overall performance of Hydro Coat Osmocem.
  • In case of smooth concrete surface, the surface should be water cleaned / sand blasted or acid etched to ensure that the concrete surface has an open capillary system.
  • Ensure to fill cracks / honeycombs / holes / faulty construction joints with Dubond Acrylic Crack Filler and allow it to touch dry. Ensure to dampen surface lightly before applying Hydro Coat Osmocem to facilitate maximum chemical penetration. It must be applied with a rigid brush in fibre or with a spreader, depending on the type of work required (simple waterproofing or simultaneous levelling of the substrate). Make adjustments to the mixing water in order to obtain a consistency suitable for the required application. In case of highly porous, damaged, efflorescence substrate, it is recommanded to use Hydroprime as a first coat to facilitate the maximum chemical penetration.
  • Add 4 – 4.5 Ltrs of water with 10 Kgs of Hydro Coat osmocem , stir the mix thoroughly to form slurry and apply, in specified quantities, by stiff bristle brush or squeegee. Ensure to prepare only as much amount of slurry as can be applied during its pot time i.e. 20 minutes. ( can add or reduce water as per the site conditions )
  • Ensure the desired thickness in each coat of application. Apply the first coat on a substrate moistened to saturation point but without the presence of stagnant water. Once the product has hardened, apply a second coat (normally 4-6 hours, depending on climatic conditions and the degree of absorbency of the substrate. In any case do not apply the second coat after a period of 24 hours). Apply the second coat in a criss-cross direction as compared with the first coat. The layers of hydro coat Osmocem must be applied with great care to ensure complete coverage of surfaces and proper connection of the walls and horizontal surfaces by means of connection shells. For
  • horizontal surface apply in one coat while for vertical surface apply in two coats. Apply second coat when first coat is touchdry. Glass fiber mesh can be used as a sandwitch between the layers of coat as reinforcement system which ensures tight bonding to restrain from the hydrostatic preassure.
  • Light spray of water may be required between coats in hot/ dry climates.
  • In extreme hot weather and very low humidity conditions, ensure curing as soon as the Hydro Coat Osmocem coating has hardened sufficiently.
  • After 36 – 48 hours of the application of 2 coats ponding can be done to the satisfaction of the engineer for the final testing of waterproofing. Recommended for 3 to 4 days.

Precautions & LimitationsDo not use Hydro coat Osmocem on rough terraces, non-structural substrates, flexible substrates, walls of gypsum, plasterboard or gypsum-base plasters.

Coverage

  • 1.5 – 1.62 M / Kg with single coat for concrete surface ( brush coat )
  • 2 2 – 2.5 M / Kg with single coat over china mosaic.( brush coat

Health & Safety Precautions :Use mask, nose cover and hand gloves during application.Clean hands with soap water after application. Avoid contact with skin / eyes. In case of unlikely contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water, then cleanse with soap and lukewarm water and seek medical advice. Do not use solvent to clean the contacted area. Preparation of substratesSurfaces must be free from grease, dust, films of smog and surface oxidation; porous surfaces must be dry. The sides of the joints to be sealed must be clean and free from any traces of grease, dust or rust. Remove all flaky or loose parts and carefully remove rust from metals. The substrate should be washed with high preassure jet to remove the surface contaminations. After one day of curing apply hydroprime on the substrate.

ApplicationHydro Gum can be applied to horizontal and vertical joints. Apply Hydro Gum to the Hydro primed substrate using a trowel or metal spreader, bond the Hydro Lastik Strip 160 With SEBS waterproofing joint, applying the product on the fabric edge and on 2-3 mm of the tape and covering with abundant adhesive. Where jointing operations involve corners, edges, pipes and drains, make special connection sections by cutting the joint strips from the extendable part of the tape and bonding them with Hydro Gum. Make sure the paste has been compacted deep into the joints to ensure optimum adhesion. Bonding should take place with a single coat, continuous if possible, using a trowel or metal spreader. Hydro Gum is dry to touch after approximately 40 minutes. Cleaning:Residual traces of sealant can be removed with common solvents, synthetic thinners or Kerosene. Once hardened, Hydro Gum can only be removed by mechanical means or using undiluted acetone / thinner.

Precautions & LimitationsDo not use in the rain, near open flames or sparks; high temperatures reduce workability, on oily or greasy materials, loose and flaking materials and severely rusted materials Health & Safety Precautions: Use Eye glass and hand gloves for the application. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water but do not rub. In caseof skin contact, wash affected areas with water and soap. Low-absorption substratesSmooth substrates with very low absorption or which are completely non-absorbent, such as ceramic tiles, marble floor tiles, epoxy paints, residual traces of oxidised adhesives and smoothed concrete coatings which are compact and properly anchored, must be prepared by means of mechanical abrasion. Any substances used for surface treatment, such as wax or parting compounds, must be removed mechanically or using specific chemical products

Preparation of the slurryPrepare DU GO SL in a clean container, first of all pouring in a quantity of water equal to approximately . of that which will be required. Gradually add DU GO SL to the water in the container mixing the paste with a low-rotation ( 400/min.) . Then add more water until a fluid, homogeneous, lump-free mortar is obtained. For best results and to mix larger quantities of self-levelling product, a stirring device with vertical blades and slow rotation is recommended. Specific polymers with high- dispersion properties ensure that DU GO SL is immediately ready for use. The amount of water indicated on the packaging is an approximate value. DU GO SL features a high degree of self-levelling capacity. Adding extra water does not improve the workability of the product, and may cause shrinkage in the plastic phase of drying and result in less effective final performance with a reduction in surface hardness, compressive strength and adhesion to the substrate

Deformable substratesIn case of substrates which in any case are subject to flexure. apply HydroPrime the professional, single-component, water-base, adhesion promoter to aclean supporting surface, following the instructions for use. Attach an anti-alkali mesh with 4x 5 mm mesh size and create DU GO SL thicknesses ≤ 5 mm

Large continuous surfaces2 Continuous, extensive surfaces need to be fractionized with elastic joints so as to create areas of 10 M

Special substratesAnhydrite screeds must be dry and sanded according to the manufacturer's instructions and impermeabilized with Hydroprime an eco concentrated, professional, water-base, surface insulation product, following the instructions for use. For subsequent laying of hardwood floors create a smooth finish of ≥ 3 mm thickness.

Method of Application

  • Dubond DU GO SL is generally applied with a smooth spreader or blade. Application with plaster pumps allows the user to very quickly achieve homogeneous, high-thickness correction of large continuous surfaces.
  • It is advisable to press down hard with the spreader during application so as to regulate the absorption of water and obtain maximum adhesion to the substrate, after which the thickness can be adjusted as required.
  • Use of a lightened, cylindrical-section, levelling bar will be required to free the self levelling product from air bubbles created by high absorption levels of the substrate and to obtain a smooth and perfectly plane surface also when high thicknesses are applied.
  • Application of a further substrate correction layer must be carried out as soon as the previous layer is ready for foot traffic ( 2 - 4 hours at +23 °C / 50% R.H.), by laying HydroPrime a professional, single-component, water-base adhesion promoter, following the instructions for use.
  • After this interval it is necessary to wait 5-7 days, depending on the thickness created and then apply HydroPrime , after which the subsequent applications may be carried out. In the case of low temperatures and high humidity.
  • It is advisable to keep the environment ventilated during application and during the hours immediately following application, in order to avoid the formation of condensation on the surface of the self-levelling product during the setting phase. Protect from air currents at actual floor level.

Precautions & LimitationsDo not use on high flexible substrates subject to thermal expansion, on wet surfaces or substrates subject to moisture rising or which are in continuous contact with water.

Health & saftey PrecautionsDuring application wear protective clothing, gloves and eye goggles during application. Avoid product to contact eyes and skin. Duplast CC-WB

  • Density 0.99 kg/L
  • Properties Specification
  • Supply form Liquid
  • Colour as supplied Milky White
  • Milky White White coat
  • Application temperature Above 5˚C
Dubond's Duplast CC-WB is a ready to use, liquid membrane curing compound based on selected grades of low viscosity paraffin wax emulsion which incorporates a special reactive emulsion breaking system. This system ensures that the emulsion breaks down to form a non-penetrating continuous film immediately upon contact with a cementitious surface. This impervious film permits more efficient cement hydration, thus reducing shrinkage and increasing durability. Once formed, the membrane will remain on the concrete surface until eventually broken down and eroded by natural weathering. Where it is required to apply a further treatment to such concrete surface, it may be necessary to remove the remaining membrane after curing, by wire brushing or other mechanical means.
Uses

Curing external concrete paving

For spraying on freshly casted concrete, or newly exposed concrete surfaces after removal of frame work, to form a temporary membrane which will retain sufficient moisture for effective curing to take place

For vertical or sloping surfaces as on Towers, Chimneys, Canal Linings, Columns and Beams where curing is difficult or unreliable in terms of un availability of sufficient and continious water supply for curing

Used for concreting generally but especially useful for large areas of concrete such as Pavements, Runways and Bridge Decks

Duplast CC-WB is not recommended for application where subsequent renders, toppings or coatings are to be applied or on coloured concrete surfaces.

Advantages

Avoids messy and repetitive water curing

Easy and safe Spray or Brush application.

Eliminates use of water, hession cloth or sand completely.

Ensures hard wearing surface - minimizes risk of drying shrinkage cracks and dusty surfaces.

Facilitates more efficient hydration of cement for greater strength and superior wear

Improves moisture retention in concrete

No harmful vapours

No risk of erratic or poor curing and ensures hydration of cement efficiently

Not a fire hazard

One time application

Prevents rapid water evaporation

Reduced plastic shrinkage cracks and dusting resistance

Safe to use

Saves labour

Single application forms moisture barrier for whole of the curing period

Water based

White pigmented so easy to identify and Better reflections

Typical Properties
  • Use Duplast CC-WB as supplied with 20 % dilution with water. Stir well before use.(rolling drums containing the product is an effective method).
  • Apply after the final finishing operation as soon as the concrete surface has hardened sufficiently to prevent marring. Delaying the application until the next day will allow substantial loss of moisture reducing the effectiveness of the curing membrane. The surface should be damp but with no free water on it.
  • In the case of formed concrete, apply immediately after striking the formwork.
  • If the surface has dried out, dampen the concrete before application. For best results, apply an even coat by a low pressure spray equipment ( In all cases the nozzle of the spray of the spray should be held approximately 450 mm from the concrete surface and should be passed back and forth to ensure complete and even coverage. The pump pressure should be maintained at a level to produce a fine spray. Rate of application depends on requirements but is typically within the range of 160 ml to 200 ml / M² 96 psi to 5 M² per ltr.)or with a wide short nap roller or brush.
  • With all methods, take adequate care to prevent marring of the concrete surface.
  • Apply the curing compound evenly on all exposed concrete surfaces at a minimum rate of 5-6 M²/L so as to form a continuous film.
Estimated Coverage Data

Actual coverage depends upon the method of application, the texture and porosity of the surface. The recommended coverage of Duplast CC-WB is 5-6 M²/L. Material requirement therefore is 0.2 L/M² after dilution of 20 % with water in single coat depending upon the substrate.

Safety Precautions

Duplast CC-WB is non toxic and does not normally require any special precaution while handling.

  • Fire : Not flammable.
  • It is advisable to wear goggles when spraying.
  • Inhalation of the spray should similarly be avoided
  • Should excessive skin contact with the compound occur the area of skin should be washed with soap and water
  • If Duplast CC-WB comes into contact with the eye should be flushed with clean water for ten minutes
  • If irritation persists, medical attention should be sought
Storage & Shelf Life

Duplast CC-WB can be stored in unopened original containers for 12 months from date of manufacture at constant moderate temperatures between 4°C to 40°C. Containers should be kept airtight to prevent surface evaporation. Freezing or prolonged to direct heat or direct sunlight must also be avoided.

Additional Information:
