Deval Attrition Testing Machine with revolution counter as per I.S 2386 Part IV ASTM D2, D289. For the determination of resistance of aggregates to wear by abrasion.

The machine consists of a hand operated load frame. The lower platen has two rollers, the distance between which is adjustable. For 150mm x 150mm x 700mm beam, the centre to centre distance between the rollers is 600mm, while it is 400mm for beams of size 100mm x 100mm x 500mm The upper platen has also a pair of rollers whose distance is adjustable. It is 200mm centre to centre, for 150mm X 150mm X 700mm size beam and 133mm for 100mm 100mm X 100mm X 500mm size beam. A pressure gauge to indicate load is fixed on the load frame. A small pumping unit is attached to the load frame. Total capacity of the machine is 100 KN and a 150mm dia pressure gauge - 100 KN x 1 KN is fitted on the machine. Since this is a hand operated light weight machine, it is useful for field laboratory also.

Same as hand operated but instead of a hand pumping unit, a separate electrically cum hand operated pumping unit housed in a cabinet is supplied. The pressure gauge 0-100 kn x 1 kn, on/off switch and a slow/fast level to control rate of loading are fitted on the front panel of the pumping unit. A facility for hand operation is provided. A micro switch and relay fitted inside the pressure gauge protects the unit from over loading.

Ductility Testing Apparatus as per IS:1208 & IP: 32: The apparatus consists of a Water bath with a thermostatic heater, and a circulating pump to maintain uniform water temperature. One half of the briquette moulds is fixed on a fixed plate in the water bath, the other half of the briquette mould is fixed to a carrier which slides over a rotating threaded shaft with a clutch. The motor and gears to rotate the shaft are housed in cabinet fixed above the other end of the bath. A pointer fixed to the carrier moves over a scale graduated from 0-110cmx1mm fixed on the bath with zero of the scale towards the fixed plate slide. The rotating shaft has 2 speeds of travel for the bracket, 5cm / min and 1 cm/ min selected by a clutch. Water bath inside is aluminium, it is an insulated water bath. Water is provided with a drain. A heater with thermostatic control is fixed inside the water bath. Control switches for motor, stirrer, heater and indicator lamps are fixed at a convenient place on the water bath complete with three briquette moulds and one base plate, all made of brass. Operates on 230 Volts A.C. Single phase complete with following Accessories : Thermometer IP 38C, Range 23C to 27C and Ductility mould with base plate.

The machine consists of a hollow cylinder mounted horizontally on a sturdy frame on ball bearings. There is an opening which can be closed with a dust tight cover to facilitate charging and discharging the drum with the material under test. A detachable shelf which extends throughout the inside length of the drum which catches the abrassive charge and does not allow it to fall on the cover. The drum is rotated by an electric motor through a heavy reduction gear at a speed of 30-33 r.p.m. A revolution counter is fitted to the frame. A tray is supplied for collection of the material at the end of the test. Complete with abrasive charges consisting of a set of twelve hardened steel balls, approximately 48mm dia. It consists of a disc rotating about a shaft connected to a reduction gear box coupled to a motor. The disc rotates at 28-30 r.p.m. Under the rotating disc is a tray with an outlet to facilitate the removal of sand. Two conical hoppers are mounted on a bracket fixed to the circular tray. An arrangement is made for start and stop the flow of sand. Two holes are provided for mounting two specimens simultaneously. Two containers with weights are supplied to keep the specimens pressed against the rotating disc. Suitable for operation on 220 volts, 50 cycles, A.C. supply.
