Laboratory Extruder

Neoplast has developed first time in India a fully instrumented Single screw & Twin screw laboratory extruder with integrated date acquisition PLC. This lab extruder can be attached to various downstream equipments to carry out varieties of testing like Filter Test, Extrudability of polymers, studying the problems occurring in R & D as well as in practical applications. Manifold screws, die heads and downstream equipments fulfill all kinds of extrusion task. The sample material is plastified under practice-oriented conditions and extruded through die head. All measuring values such as torque, melt pressure, melt temperature are recorded continuously and represented in the form of tables and graphs parallel to the running test.   • The Extruder frame is mounted on four caster wheel with level screw arrangement to fix rigidly on the floor.

Description

The Dynisco Polymer Test LME Laboratory Mixing Extruder is a unique laboratory tool developed to evaluate the processability of a variety of plastics and rubbers prior to production. From very fine powders to coarse materials, the LME will meet many extruding needs.

The LME possesses a moveable header and dial gage that allows for constant mixer adjustability. While in operation, the rotational shearing (mixing) is controlled by adjusting the distance between the end of the rotor and the inside header. This unique feature, not found in other extruders, allows for various extrudate mix levels in a single sample run. The rotational shearing of the LME system provides extensive and intensive mixing and can be used in the production of polymer blends or alloys. These blends have been found homogeneous enough to be spun into fibers over the entire range of composition. Since mixing may be independently adjusted, agglomerates of additives, such as fillers or pigments, may be accurately controlled.

ASTM Presses For Plastics

Wabash presses are specially configured to perform the compression molding of test plaque or bar specimens of Type 1-5 polyethylene. The procedure is in conformance with ASTM Method D 4703, Procedure C. The presses are equipped with heating/cooling platens and a programmable digital controller which has a heating/cooling loop for each platen and built-in program for the required 15/minute +/-2C cooling rate.
