FLOW TRIGGERING MECHANIS: The Shreeyash PC 903 incorporate a duel flow system, During expiratory phase a continues flow passes a through the ventilator circuit and return back to ventilator (i.e. delivered flow = returned flow). If the patient initiates a breather, part of the delivered flow goes to the patient and thus the returned flow is less than the ventilator as an patient effort and it instantly supplies additional flow and thus a breather is assisted. When the patient triggers the PC903, the flow accelerates such that the set PIP is achieved. As the flow starts to decelerate and when it reaches the set termination value (settable from 10% to 25% of peak flow) the PC903 cycles in to expiration.

Provision of Bias Flow to provide ready gas of set FIO2 during patient triggering. This helps in improving the overall sensitivity of the ventilator: It also helps in washing out the CO2 in more effective manner and helps to maintain the PEEP. The Bias flow can be set to neonatal & pediatric mode by using the soft touch keys.

Working Pressure: The PC900/903 works on very low preesure ensuring utmost safety &economy of gases.It works only on 1.5 psi (100cmH2o)as compared to 30 psi(2100 cm H20)used by comtemporary .Also it does not use gas supply to operate ventilator.

Tidal Volume (only in PC903)Instead of placing a flow sensor either at inspiratory end or expiratory end, the pc903 has incorporated a flow sensor at the pxoximal end .This ensures exact indication of delivered tidal volume, exhated volume and above all the flow triggering mechanism becomes more sensitive. even a slight change in the bias flow is detected by the flow transducer & a breathe is triggered.

The spontaneous period % can be set from 60, 65, 70, 75% of the respiratory cycle in simv mode .This informs the user regarding the window time of Simv and spontaneous period.

Preesure support :Can be set up to 15 cm H2O above PEEP

A I.C.U display guides the user in setting various parameters of a selected mode. It also indicates various malfunctions and messages like " low airway pressure, high airway preesure, patient in apnea, mean airway preesure, inspiratory pause , sigh breathe, spontaneous and SIMV mode, biasww flow on , mode ready , prees start, etc.

An unique and easily removable humidifier is incorporated to wwarm and humidify the blended gas that is delivered to patient .A special servo control mechanism is provided to warm the gas to the desired temperature.
