SunLife works local women cooperatives who have been trained in separating and processing premium quality kernels. They pick the nuts from the bush or from family farmlands or protected forests and hand-process them at the village level. The groups are located in high-density Shea areas northern of Ghana, mainly in Gusheigu, Savelugu, and in the Builsa North and South districts in the Upper East Region. Through training, the women have been taught how to improve their traditional techniques, from proper collection and handling of the nuts to the effective stocking of the kernels. This ensures that the kernels retain all of their health-enhancing qualities. The women have been trained in all processing stages to ensure the quality of the kernel is preserved at every critical step of production.

SunLife Shea Butter is untainted by modern chemicals, and wild-crafted in the traditional way by the women from northern Ghana. No processing, no refining with added chemicals and no industrialized production methods. We produce grades A, B and C Shea Butter, tested to meet the highest quality standards using SGS- an international testing entity  to meet our customers needs.

We sell only the finest Organic African Unrefined Shea Butter, with no additives. SunLife's Shea Butter is completely raw, unrefined and has a thick and often nutty aroma. We do not use bleaches, deodorizers, or chemicals to change the scent or appearance of Shea Butter. We do not advise you purchase Shea Butter that has been altered; as this depletes the product of its healing and medicinal properties, and also destroys the vitamins and minerals naturally present in Shea Butter.
