HSS Fine Pitch Involute Gear Hobs are precision cutting tools manufactured from high-speed steel, specifically designed for generating fine-pitch external gears with involute tooth profiles. Engineered to produce gears with module sizes typically below 1.0 mm or diametral pitches above 25 DP, these hobs offer exceptional accuracy and surface finish, making them ideal for miniature and high-precision gearing applications such as in clocks, instruments, robotics, and small automotive components. The involute profile is ground to tight tolerances in accordance with DIN, AGMA, or ISO standards, ensuring consistent gear tooth geometry and optimal meshing performance. Made from premium grades of HSS such as M2, M35, or M42, these hobs provide excellent wear resistance, thermal stability, and edge retention, even under high-speed cutting conditions. Available with straight or helical flutes and single or multi-start designs, the hobs can be supplied with specialized coatings like TiN or TiAlN to further enhance tool life and performance. These tools are compatible with CNC gear hobbing machines and manual hobbing setups, and are typically supplied in Class A, B, or AA accuracy depending on application needs.
