Machining Process

Although the die casting process is capable of producing net shape components, some parts still require post-cast machining and finishing.GowSai has acquired extensive resources for complete machining and finishing to satisfy any requirement, including sub-assembly.

Gravity Die Casting Components

Gravity die-casting is the most common method of producing low volume large castings ranging from 50 grams to as much as 30 Kgs. Gravity Die Casting employs cast iron moulds which allow aluminium castings to be produced more accurately and cheaply.Tooling costs of gravity casting are a fraction of those needed for other die casting methods. The rapid chilling gives excellent mechanical properties whilst non-turbulent filling ensures production of heat treatable gravity castings with minimal porosity.Gravity die casting is perfect for proto type and small production batch castings with volumes ranging from as low as 300 pieces to 3000pieces.

Pressure Die Casting Components

Pressure die casting is a competitive casting method when the components are needed at high volumes or when better tolerances and surface finish are required .The need for machining is very low due to the close casting tolerances. Heat treatment of pressure die casting is not possible but due to the high rate of solidification the mechanical properties are good. The tooling costs are considerably higher than for gravity die casting.

Sand Casting Components

Sand casting, the most widely used economical process for creating rough metal parts, utilizes expendable sand molds to form complex metal parts. As the sand mold must be destroyed in order to remove the casting, sand casting typically has a low production rate. The Sand casting post process may require a longer lead time for production at high output rates (120 pieceshourmold), but is unsurpassed for large-part production. Raw castings are then machined to produce finished products or components.

GOWSAI is a specialist in alloy die-casting, Our precision engineered range of Gravity Die Casting Components ranges from 80gm to 25kgs. Our Die-casting unit comprises of two furnaces with a total capacity of 300kgs, which is suitable for mass production and for fully mechanized casting.

To ensure optimum metal quality, we maintain batch to batch shorter melting & holding time, which is specifically desired for small & medium sized Aluminum components. The components produced include castings with shell sand cores as well as metallic cores ranging from thick walled to intricate thin walled casting. The company is presently supplying a variety of gravity castings in raw/ fully finished condition. The finishes offered are shot blasted, mirror polished, painted, powder coated, anodized.

We currently die cast in complete LM series as per BS. All our metals are premium grade.

Pressure Die-casting is similar to permanent mold casting except that the metal is injected into the mold under high pressure . This results in a more uniform part, generally good surface finish and good dimensional accuracy, as good as 0.2 % of casting dimension. For many parts, post-machining can be totally eliminated, or very light machining may be required to bring dimensions to size.

GowSai in association with UDC-coimbatore presents high quality range of high pressure die casting. We have 3 Horizontal Cold Chamber Pressure Die Casting Machine with each capacity of 120 tonne . We produce castings of weight ranging from 60 gms. to 600gms. The furnaces are individual holding and melting for specific alloy with necessary controls. At present we cast LM series alloys. Machines are replaced or upgraded regularly & the systems are ISO 9001 - 2000 compliant.
