This Cast Steel Gate valve features a bolted bonnet with Class 150 to Class 1500 flanges in sizes 2 to 30. The one piece flexible wedge with a tapered H shape is fully guided and suitable for steam and other high temperature service. The yoke sleeve is designed to allow for disassembly without disconnecting the bonnet and stem. Standard body materials are A216-WCB, A217-WC6 or A351-CF8. Depending on service conditions, other material options are available for valve and trim.

FUNCTION


Gate valve is characterized by a sliding wedge which is moved by actuator perpendicular to the flow direction. There are a variety of valve sizes and types. The valve is used primarily as a stop valve to open or close fully. Normally it works for slurries, viscous fluid, etc. but not for throttling. The gate valve usually has a minimum pressure drop in full open and a tight seal in full close, and therefore there is little possibility that contaminants may enter the valve.



BODY AND BONNET


The body and bonnet is designed to achieve most uniform distribution of stress on all sides and minimum turbulence and resistance to flow. The bonnet on valve is equipped with back seat ring up to 12" for Class 150 & 300 and up to 10" for Class 600 or higher. The yoke is integrated with bonnet.

WEDGE


The valve is normally supplied with a one-piece flexible wedge of which the cross section is a tapered H shape.


All wedges are fully guided. The flexible wedge is cast or machined with circumferential grooves to allow the seating faces to move independently and adjust the movement of body seat.


It is used where the line load or thermal expansion of system may distort the seating face of valve, and especially useful to prevent sticking that may happen in case the valve is closed at a hot temperature and opened at a cold temperature.


Ideally the wedge is suitable for steam and other high temperature service.



SEAT RING


The stem connection to the wedge shall have an integrated tee head (without welding)and is rectified in the packing area to ensure a long life and perfect tightness. Through experiments, we have calculated and checked the connections between stem and wedge not to disengage the stem from wedge while gate valve is working.


The strength of stem and wedge connections is stronger than that of stem alone at the root of thread.



STEM


The packing size is designed to secure maximum tightness along the stem, and the standard packing is a non-asbestos type. We can supply any kinds of packing as required by customer.

Check Valve

Easy structures and short dimensions are the remarkable features of dual plate check valves They are to be directly mounted between DIN flanges (PN 10, PN 16 or ANSI 150).



Dual plate check valves require a low opening pressure. The resulting opening power directs the stems against the spring and the valves weight power, so that the media is released. If the initial pressure is higher than the entrance pressure, the valve closes and is sealed by the O-ring to protect it from the media.



Dual plate check valves type are designed to block media on one side of the pipe within allowable pressure and temperature limits and to be installed in a pipe system only. They are only to be used with media, which the material and the seals are resistant to. They are not suitable for media with solid components.



Installation compared to other type of check valve.


The Dual Plate Check Valve employs two spring-loaded plates hinged on a central hinge pin.



When the flow decreases, the plates close by torsion spring action without requiring reverse flow.


This design offers the twin advantages of No Water Hammer and Non Slam simultaneously.

Principle Of Operation
All type of regulators generally fit in to one of the following two basic categories

The operational principal of both types of regulators is explained as follows.
  • Direct Operated : In operation, a direct-operated, pressure-reducing regulator senses the downstream pressure through either internal pressure registration or an external control line. This downstream pressure opposes a spring that moves the diaphragm and valve plug to change the size of the flow path through the regulator. Characteristically direct operated regulators are adequate for narrow-range control, and where the allowable change in output pressure can be 10 to 20% of the outlet pressure setting. This 10 to 20% is typical although finer control can be achieved depending on the specific application requirement.
  • Pilot Operated : A pilot-operated system uses a two-path control. In two-path control, the main valve diaphragm responds quickly to downstream pressure changes, causing an immediate correction in the main valve position. At the same time, the pilot diaphragm diverts some of the reduced inlet pressure to the other side of the valve diaphragm, diaphragm control the final positioning of the main valve plug. Two-path control results in fast response. Pilot-operated regulators are preferred for broad-range control, or where the allowable change in outlet pressure is required to be less than 10 percent of the outlet pressure setting. They are also commonly used when remote set point adjustment is required for a regulator application.
