Type HSV slurry handling vertical pumps (Gas Seal Type) are specially designed auxiliary pumps wherein a gas seal is provided between pump and motor. The gas (nitrogen or compressed air) keeps the pumped liquid containing slurry from reaching the separation seal. The motor chamber where the bearings are located is filled with a clean compatible fluid.
