Keltron entered the IT arena way back in the late 70s with the manufacture of computers and accessories, and micro processor based products such as attendance monitoring and recording systems. Over the years, Keltron has been riding the wave of technology focusing its strength on technology adaptation for the common good by enabling the use of computers in several segments of business and life. Today, Keltron has widened its IT horizon by enlarging its production base, and entering other IT domains such as software development, training and support services. Being a Public Sector organization, Keltron has a focused interest in catering to the IT needs of the Government of Kerala configuring solutions that encompass all the key departments of the State administration. Keltron computers are in use in all Government Departments as well as the schools of the State. In the Government Secretariat, the entire IT infrastructure is planned, implemented and maintained by Keltron. Keltron computers are manufactured at Keltron Communication Complex Monvila, Trivandrum.

Keltron presents a series of LED lighting systems to match various applications. These lighting systems are manufactured by Keltron Lighting Division at Mudadi, Kozhikode in Kerala State, a state-of-the-art facility that integrates the most advanced LED sources, driver technologies, optics and design to produce highly reliable world-class luminaires. The R&D effort has been fully focused on reducing energy consumption, extending life and maximising illumination performance of lighting systems.

Keltron entered the electronic components industry by setting up India’s largest Aluminium Electrolytic Capacitor plant in technical collaboration with Spargue Electromag, Belgium, in 1976 at Kannur, Kerala. Over the years, Keltron has added on several other types of components enlarging its range to cater to the needs of the Indian market. Today, Keltron enjoys a sizeable market share, and is identified as a reputed supplier of electronic components for professional, industrial and consumer electronics applications.

Keltron launched the ID Card Project (IDCP) in 1991 seeing an opportunity in the decision by the Election Commission of India to provide Electoral Photo Identity Cards. Today, IDCP is identified as the State Level Agency Election Department, Government of Kerala since 1997 which includes, in addition to preparation of Electoral Photo Identity Cards
