Turpentine is a volatile liquid obtained by the distillation of Oleo Pine Resin.

It is mainly used as an industrial solvent and applied as thinner for paints and varnishes. It is also effective in removing oil and acrylic based paints, varnishes, tar, etc. due to its strong cleaning properties. It also has various medicinal uses including disinfectant. It is used for Muscle Pain, Toothaches , etc. as it creates a warming sensation when applied to the skin. Inhaling the vapours of turpentine oil can reduce thick secretions caused by bronchial diseases. It is also used as a food and beverage flavouring in very small quantities.
