High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) is an extremely efficient manufacturing method for producing various product forms. The process forces molten metal at high speed, and high pressure into a closed steel die cavity. The die has a stationary and moving half, both of which are mounted to the die casting machine’s platens. High-pressure die casting is a process in which molten metal is forced under pressure into a securely locked metal die cavity, where it is held by a powerful press until the metal solidifies. Two types of systems are used for injecting the molten metal into the die.

The mould consists of two primary components, the injection mould (A plate) and the ejector mould (B plate). These components are also referred to as moulder and mouldmaker. Injection molding is a process in which custom molded component manufacturers heat a polymer until it reaches a highly plastic state and forces it to flow under high pressure into a mold’s cavity to solidify. Manufacturers then remove the molded part, or molding, from the cavity.

Injection molding is ubiquitous as a manufacturing process—in fact, the majority of plastic products in the world today are manufactured by injection molding. Injection molding is a process in which a thermoplastic polymer is heated above its melting point, resulting in the conversion of the solid polymer to a molten fluid with a reasonably low viscosity. This melt is mechanically forced, that is, injected, into a mold in the shape of the desired final object.
