In pressure overflow filling systems the product is pumped or gravity fed from a tank through a filling valve to the container. The flow is started and stopped by the action of a spring loaded filling valve that is opened by the force of making contact with the top of the container. This is achieved by lowering the filler head down on the top of the container with a pneumaticmechanical powered diving head. When the pressure of the contact is sufficient, the spring opens the filling valve and the product flows from the supply tank into the container. The air and any foam that is formed through product filling turbulence in the container, is forced out through the vent tube or overflow port, as the product enters the container. The product will continue to fill the container and overflow through the overflow port until the diving head raises and the valve shuts. When the contact between the filler head and the container is broken the spring closes the filler valve and prevents dripping of the product as the head is removed from the container and positioned for the next fill. The amount of time the diving head is lowered and the valves remain open and the product viscosity determines the amount of product that is dispensed into the container. The filling valve contains an over flow tube to drain the excess product back to the supply tank and prevent overfill. The fill level of the container is determined by the depth of the overflow port within the neck of the container. The fill level will be the same regardless of bottle inconsistencies.

The Main system can be explained with the normal gear system model diagram, where bottom is the suction and top is the discharge. The discharge is connected with the positive shut-off nozzle which when opens the Spur Gear flow meter which starts rotating due to the flow of oil pumped through the pumping system given with the machine and the non contact sensor mounted on flow meter starts counting electronic pulses which gives feedback to the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) for the volume to be dispensed.

The machine is GMP model, fabricated completely from Stainless Steel 304 grade material. A hopper of 60 liters capacity in Stainless Steel 304 is attached to the machine. Machine is controlled by microprocessor through key pad given on the control panel. Tare weight, In-flight weight, auto correction, weight display, pouch counter, individual vibrator control, coarse and fine settings are in built features on the control panel. All pneumatics, wherever required, are of world class make. The filling section is enclosed in an acrylic cabinet.
