Magburuka Community Mining
Magburuka Community Mining is a mining company operating primarily in Sierra Leone. We are committed to the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone and the communities surrounding our operations, and place sustainable development as integral to the way we do business.
A unique group of partners and investors including community and business leaders, government officials, doctors and academics stand ready to do business in Sierra Leone according to the highest ethical standards. The Pipe 3 mine, developed in a fair and equitable manner through an innovative partnership with the local chiefdom community and the national government, will bring the community the prosperity it deserves.
Sierra Leone is rich in mineral resources. Diamonds, gold, bauxite, rutile and iron ore are known to exist in large quantities. Political stability has led to a revival of economic activity such as the rehabilitation of bauxite and rutile mining, which are set to benefit from planned tax incentives. Several offshore oil discoveries were announced in 2009 and 2010. The development on these reserves, which could be significant, is still years away.
Magburuka Community Mining is committed to Best Practice Principles. Our Gold have been produced from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations Resolutions. Sierra Leone became a member of the Kimberley Process in 2003.
