Newsprint is a low-cost, non-archival paper most commonly used to print newspapers, and other publications and advertising material. It usually has an off-white cast and distinctive feel. It is designed for use in printing presses that employ a long web of paper (web offset, letterpress and flexographic) rather than individual sheets of paper. Newsprint mainly consists of wood pulp.
Newsprint is favored by publishers and printers as it is relatively low cost (compared with paper grades used for glossy magazines and sales brochures), strong (to run through modern high-speed web printing presses) and can accept four-color printing at qualities that meet the needs of typical newspapers.
Applications:
Newspapers

Kraft paper is paper or paperboard produced from chemical pulp produced in the Kraft process.
Pulp produced by the Kraft process is stronger than that made by other pulping processes; acidic sulfite processes degrade cellulose more, leading to weaker fibers, and mechanical pulping processes leave most of the lignin with the fibers, whereas Kraft pulping removes most of the lignin present originally in the wood.
Low lignin is important to the resulting strength of the paper, as the hydrophobic nature of lignin interferes with the formation of the hydrogen bonds between cellulose (and hemicelluloses) in the fibers.
Kraft pulp is darker than other wood pulps, but it can be bleached to make very white pulp. Fully bleached Kraft pulp is used to make high quality paper where strength, whiteness and resistance to yellowing are important.
Applications:
Kraft paper (plastic hazard free) is used in paper sacks for cement, food, chemicals, consumer goods, flour bags etc.
Kraft paper is used for electrical insulation in large oil filled transformers.
Kraft papers are used in paper grocery bags, multiwall sacks, envelopes and other packaging.
Kraft paper is an inexpensive material for lining particle boards.
The base paper for sandpaper is normally Kraft paper.
HiBulk book printing is an uncoated mechanical book paper offering a higher bulk for lower grammage papers. Manufactured with higher bulk and strength for optimal converting performance. Carbonless paper is a non-carbon copying paper system uniquely coated with micro-encapsulated dye or ink and/or reactive clay to transmit images from one ply to subsequent plies, with manual or mechanical pressure. Carbonless is widely used to make a copy of an original, handwritten (or mechanically typed) document without the use of any electronics. It manufactured using the latest high technology coating machine and state of the art paper making techniques to ensure the images remain intense, clean and legible down to the last ply for easy readability throughout the life of the document.
Maharashtra Paper offers a wide range of choices in terms of grammage, good copy intensity and excellent printing performance. It also suitable for all kinds of business forms to satisfy the needs of your customers, merchants, printers and end users.
GSM: 50/55 (available in black copy color)
Applications:
Carbonless can be used to create a multitude of multi-part forms, such as: Production orders, Purchase requisitions, Expense reports, Medical forms, Packing slips, Delivery receipts, Credit applications, Bank slip, and many more.
Thermal paper is a special fine paper that is coated with a chemical that changes color when exposed to heat. It is used in thermal printers and particularly in inexpensive or lightweight devices such as adding machines, cash registers, and credit card terminals.
The surface of the paper is coated with a solid-state mixture of a dye and a suitable matrix; a combination of a fluoran leuco dye as an example. When the matrix is heated above its melting point, the dye reacts with the acid, shifts to its colored form, and the changed form is then conserved in a met stable state when the matrix solidifies back quickly enough.
Most direct thermal papers require a protective top-coating to:
Reduce fading of the thermal image caused by exposure to UV light, water, oils, grease, lard, fats, plasticizers, and similar causes
Provide improved print head wear
Reduce or eliminate residue from the thermal coating on the thermal print heads
Provide better anchorage of flexographic printing inks applied to the thermal paper
Focus the heat from the thermal print head on the active coating.
Applications:
Credit and Debit Card Machines
Portable Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems
Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs)
Generating Lottery Tickets
Long-Term Storage Documents
Tickets and tags
Bank account statements
Tissue paper or simply tissue is a lightweight paper or, light crpe paper. Tissue can be made from recycled paper pulp or virgin pulp. Key properties are: Absorbency, basis weight, thickness (caliper), bulk (specific volume), brightness, stretch, appearance and comfort. Tissue paper is produced on a paper machine that has a single large steam heated drying cylinder (Yankee) fitted with a hot air hood.
The raw material is paper pulp. The Yankee cylinder is sprayed with adhesives to make the paper stick. Creping is done by the Yankees doctor blade that is scraping the dry paper off the cylinder surface. The crinkle (creping) is controlled by the strength of the adhesive, geometry of the doctor blade, speed difference between the Yankee and final section of the paper machine and paper pulp characteristics.
The highest water absorbing applications are produced with a through air drying (TAD) process. These papers contain high amounts of NBSK and CTMP. This gives a bulky paper with high wet tensile strength and good water holding capacity. The TAD process uses about twice the energy compared with conventional drying of paper.
The properties are controlled by pulp quality, creping and additives (both in base paper and as coating). The wet strength is often an important parameter for tissue paper.
Applications:
Facial tissue
Paper towel
Wrapping tissue
Toilet paper
Table napkins
Lightweight coated paper (LWC) is essentially a thin paper made from ground spruce pulpwood, reinforced with a small proportion of kraft pulp to add strength. The resulting paper is then covered with coating in which the most important constituent is fine-grained clay.
LWC and all of our other publication paper products are FSC-certified and produced from pulp that is bleached without the use of any chlorine chemicals (TCF). Energy production is based, to a large degree, upon biofuels which enables us to have low emissions of fossil carbon dioxides.
With its superior Brightness/opacity ratio and Excellent print quality, our LWC Is the option for demanding printing that combines perfect quality with printing economy.
