The innovative Rigel HEBAS sampling head uses the inertial impaction technology to maximize the effectiveness of standard culture media.
The geometry of the HEBAS head is designed to precisely direct the sample air at a low velocity onto the culture media surface to assure high collection efficiency (validated according to ISO 146981 Annex B)
while minimizing the severe stress and trauma of each micro-organism.
In addition, contamination formed outside the controlled environment can be immediately and easily identified, significantly reducing the risk of false positives.
HEBAS is made by AISI 316L Stainless Steel, fully autoclavable.
The locking system is based on magnets, allowing ease, rapid and safe opening and closing operations.
The used consumable is a standard 90 mm petri dish.
HEBAS fully complies with ISO 14698, and it has been certified for efficiency by Health Protection Agency (Portodown – UK) according to ISO 14698-1 Annex B (report no. 80-10A).
