Nautilus Engineering undertakes the manufacture and repairs of marine equipment, deck machinery, ship’s fittings and construction of small steel vessels. These products are inspected during manufacture, tested and certified by all major marine classification societies and government inspection departments viz. Lloyds, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Indian Register of Shipping, Mercantile Marine Department, Naval Overseeing etc. Nautilus consists of four partners John Koland, a Naval Architect and his three sons Vincent, Patrick and Cecil who are graduate engineers in Mechanical Engineering. Under noted is a brief account of their technical experience and what the firm has been doing from its inception in 1986. Mr. John W. Koland, who is a chartered engineer and a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (London). He has over 40 years of experience in the design, construction and repair of ships. He at one time was the Chief Executive Officer of one of the leading firms of shipbuilders and ship repairers of Calcutta, India. He is overall in charge of Nautilus Engineering. Mr. Vincent C. Koland has a first class Bachelor of Technology Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has further done a marine orientation training course at the Cochin Port Trust and worked as an engineering officer in the merchant navy. He has over 15 years experience in the manufacture and servicing of marine equipment and ship’s fittings. He at present, looks after the marketing, execution schedule, delivery and after sales service of the firms orders. He also keeps the day to day contact with the firms clients. Mr. Patrick M. Koland has a first class Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 14 years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of marine equipment and deck machinery. He at present is in charge of our design office and oversees the manufacture of the various equipment manufactured by the firm. Mr. Cecil J. Koland has a first class Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 11 years experience in the manufacture and installation of the various equipment the firm produces. He at present looks after the administration and manages the finances of the firm.
