The purpose of the Bow Spring Centralizer, both welded and non-welded, is to help center the casing in the wellbore, allowing even distribution of the cement around the casing during cementing operations. The degree to which the casing is centered depends on the performance of the centralizer and the spacing between the centralizers installed on the casing OD. Bow Spring Centralizers also help reduce casing drag in the wellbore during running operations and prevent differential stroking of the casing. They increase fluid turbulence at the tool, helping to move filter cake from the wellbore. Both welded and non-welded Bow Spring Centralizers can be run through hole restrictions in the bore hole or smaller casing strings that are cemented in the well, which in turn centers the casing below the restriction.

Rigid positive bow centralizers provide stand off in cased hole sections, aid in setting casing slips at the surface and permit cement to fully surround casing for a competent cement sheath. They provide much smoother running capability by reducing the frictional forces, helps in reciprocation and rotation. They also allow upto 95 % stand off inside previous casing. They provide stand off for efficient operation of multiple stage equipment and provide reinforcement to the cement column.

Oilmec offers two primary styles of cement baskets that assist in supporting an upper cement column during cementing operations. The cement baskets consist of both slip-on and hinged types. They are normally installed between (2) stop collars or over a slip-on type stop collar and have the ability to aid in premature cement hydration to help reduce hydrostatic fluid column above a loss zone or weak formation. These cement baskets can be run on casing or liners above a porous or weak formation that requires protection from the hydrostatic pressures generated by the cement column.

Solid Centralizers are available in “Straight Blade” or “Spiral” models and are made to run on the casing OD to centralize the casing that will be cemented in the wellbore and will also improve cement bonding onto the casing. They are designed to reduce the amount of friction between the casing and the hole, allowing the casing to be inserted more easily into the wellbore; and help prevent the casing string from becoming differentially stuck.

Oilmec offers five primary styles of stop collars to keep centralizers and other casing attachments in the desired position on the casing. Both hinged and slip-on styles are available.
