Zeolites are abundant in nature and were first described by the Swedish amateur mineralogist Baron von Cronstedt in 1756. He found these minerals in rocks of volcanic origin and observed that, when rapidly heated, stones containing this material released water and appeared to boil. Therefore he called the mineral "Zeolite" which is derived from Greek and translates as "stone that boils".
Today, the term zeolite is used to denote crystalline sodium aluminium silicates of natural or synthetic origin. There are approximately 50 natural and 200 synthetic zeolites. A common property of all zeolites is their ion exchange capability.
Natural volcanic zeolite is a silicate mineral having a unique interconnecting lattice structure. It's honeycomb framework of consistent diameter interconnecting channels and pores coupled with negatively charged alumina and neutrally charged silica tetrahedral building process an open three dimensional honeycomb framework that attracts liquids, odor & gases and traps them in its crystalline structure.
At PEEKAY MINERALS natural zeolites are selected according to its purity at mines and pulverized in to powder in different mesh size as per the need of the customer. The company has made many improvements in the conventional process to produce most desirable product for the end user. PKM strives to produce exactly what the customer requests and make adjustments to our procedures according to the individual customers wherever possible.
The processing techniques at PEEKAY MINERALS ensures consistent quality, control of particle size and freedom from impurities at pocket friendly costs.

Features:
Quartz is made up of a lattice of silica (SiO2) tetrahedral. It is the 2nd most common mineral in the world. Its very hard rock having hardness around 7 on the Mohs scale and its density is 2.65 g/cm3.
Quartz is a common constituent of granite, sand stone, lime stone and many igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. It occurs in hydrothermal veins and pegmatites. Well-formed crystals may reach several meters in length and weigh hundreds of kilograms.
The variety of quartz occurs either in translucent or mostly opaque, while the transparent varieties tend to be macro crystalline. Although many of the varietal names historically arose from the colour of the mineral, current scientific naming schemes refer primarily to the micro structure of the mineral. Colour is a secondary identifier for the cryptocrystalline minerals, although it is a primary identifier for the macro crystalline varieties. This does not always hold true. Not all varieties of quartz are naturally occurring. Some colored mineral is produced by heat treatment. At PEEKAY MINERALS only natural Quartz is available.
The quartz mineral is usually processed in the grain size of 0 to 6 mm. However, it can further be ground in fine mesh as per buyers'' application choice or demand. For commercial classification the qualities of Quartz are governed as identification marks like Glassy, Snow white, White or Semi-white grades.
