Ultra filtration (UF) is used to remove suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, endotoxins and other pathogens and produce water with very high purity and low silt density. A typical UF membrane pore size range is 0.01 to 0.05 m.It serves as a pretreatment for surface water, seawater, and biologically treated municipal effluent before reverse osmosis.
