The CR 2 Grade of dry PAM cationic TRUEFLOCKS flocculants of high molecular weight works effectively as coagulant aids or sludge conditioning agent in solid-liquid seperation processes in a wide variety of industries. Advantages : Economical to use - effective at very low dosage levels Works over a wide pH range and does not alter the system pH Fast settling rates Achieve high solids removal efficiencies Easily soluble in water Dry product minimizes storage requirement Principal Uses : Trueflocks dry PAM nonionic Flocculent are recommended for the following solid-liquid separation processes : Mechanical dewatering - treating inorganic sludges for increased throughput, solids recovery and effluent quality Gravity setting - improves floc formation for faster settling rates, increases sludge compaction and improved water quality Coagulant & settling aid with inorganic and organic coagulants Water clarification - improves influent, process and effluent water quality by reducing suspended solids and turbidity Dissolved air flotation - result in clearer underflows and greater throughput Filtration - improves filtered water quality and plant throughput Phosphate removal in waste water treatment Retention aid on paper machine The above are the primary applications for these products. These products may be beneficial in any solid - liquid sepration process. Application : TRUEFLOCKS dry PAM cationic flocculants should be properly dispersed and dissolved to 0.1 - 0.50 % concentration. Dissolution should be complete around 1 hour of agitation, but will be faster in warm water. However, the temperature of water should be refrained from above 50 o C. Health and Safety : This product can irritate the eyes and skin. Rubber gloves, goggles and protective clothing are recommended for use while handling. They are not acutely toxic by oral and dermal administration to laboratory animals though eye irritation did result. Do not use iron, copper or aluminum. Spilled polymer is very slippery and should collected prior to flushed with water. The self life of these products is 12 months when stored in unopened packages in a dry atmosphere at temperatures no higher than 40° C. ANFOAG-786 is a new and improved antifoarn composition to preventing, reducing or inhibiting foaming in paper industries. Foaming in paper manufacturing gives troubles at the following process : In highly porous paper, the size replaces air in the sheet and this air is absorbed by the size thus contributing foaming troubles. Foam formed on Paper Machine gives pinholes and spots in paper formation and results in poor formation of paper Chemical used in de-inking generally causes the foaming troubles during de-inking Process and pulping. Foaming is often caused during the evaporation process of the bleach liquor. Foam may be caused by a number of factors such as incomplete wetting of fibre, excessive amount of water-soluble substances in the furnish or undue turbulence leading to entrained air. Air usually gets into the stock when the stock cascades into mixing chest. Leaky pumps also cause foams. Foams in pulp suspension is caused by substances such as dye-stuffs, oxidised starches, casein from waste paper, spent cooking Liquor in poorly washed pulp, bleached residues, calcium carbonate and calcium sulphite. ANFOAG is very effective as defoaming agent to overcome foaming problems. We suggest the following methods for use of ANFOAG : Solution Preparation - Prepare 5 to 10% solution of ANFOAG in tap water. Hot is not must but preferable. Addition Method - ANFOAG addition depends upon the condition where the maximum effect is required. Adding diluted ANFOAG at the point from where the mixing will be throgh with aqueous slurry. Spraying the diluted ANFOAG at the surface of the foam. Sprinkle ANFOAG whereever the effect is required to the miximum level. Point of Addition : As a general rule in Paper Industry, antifoam should be added as close as possible to the point where the foam is causing trouble. For example, if foam is causing poor formation on the wire, ANFOAG should be added in diluted solution at the machine screen or at the machine Head-Box. Quantity to Be Used : It is not Possible to give the exact data of the quantity requirement particularly at various steps of paper manufacturing process but still 250 gms. may be enough to control or prevent foaming in each operation.
