Improve grounding by installing snaps to connect grounding onto mats.
The top anti static side of the mat collects static off of hands, feet, tools, and equipment placed on top of it at a static dissipative rate.
Then the static is transferred to ground by the black carbon-loaded underside of the matting at a conductive rate.
However, if the mat is laying on top of a bench top (like wood) that is not conductive or a table that is on top of a floor (again like wood) that is not conductive connect grounding to the mat so that the static has a dedicated path to ground.
The grounding used to connect mats to a ground is typically either a mat ground, a common point ground , or a constant monitor (which also provides a common point ground for mats and wrist straps while monitoring the ground connection).
Electrical outlets typically are the best ground in any building because they follow the piping to ground underneath the building.
It’s recommended you have grounding attached for every 5 feet of mat, but they should not be “daisy-chained” together. Instead, directly connect the grounding to the electrical outlet.
