Bursting Strength Tester Analogue

Presto’s bursting strength tester is a perfect instrument to measure the resistance of a material against the pressure applied. It is widely used in industries to test the bursting strength of the materials like paper, cardboard, rexine, leather, industrial fabric, sheets, etc. A hydraulic pressure is applied to the sample via a rubber diaphragm. The medium for creating hydraulic pressure is glycerine. The test is an escalated test to assess the properties of the material in extreme conditions. The instrument is assembled using a stiff metal base plate with a combination of Autumn Gray and Blue coloured painting and bright zinc/chrome plating to provide it a rust resistant finish. The laboratory equipment comes with two spare diaphragms, Instruction guide, Electric wiring Diagram, Test foil set and Calibration Certificate traceable to NABL approved Labs.

It is one of the most reliable tests to understand the behaviour of the product in real working conditions. It has been popularly incorporated into work flow in different industries to cut down the wastage and rejection due to failure of sample. The machine is loaded with high end features that makes it easy to operate. The sample that is to be tested is clamped in with adequate pressure. The grip should neither be very tight nor too loose, otherwise it would impact the readings. The sample is clamped manually, this is why it is very important to understand the accurate gripping force. If it is too loose, the sample would slip as pressure is applied. When the pressure is applied, the diaphragm inflates and applies a force on the sample. The sensors will capture the pressure to rupture the sample. The electrical signals are processed and values are displayed in a human readable format on the screen.
