Description: These piping calibration blocks were created with Phased Array UT (PAUT). The DAKS TOOLS block design differs from the original ASME design in a number of ways, including the addition of extra axial and arc length, a different notch arrangement, and a 10° angled cut on one end for blocks exceeding 5 NPS. By making these adjustments, the back wall's undesirable noise is lessened when DAC/TCG calibrations are carried out using Phased Array UT equipment.A calibration block ought to be a piece of pipe with the same nominal dimensions, schedule, heat treatment, and material requirements as the object of the test. For the machining of these standards, we keep a considerable stockpile of raw materials, while we can also use materials that the customer supplies. The Phased Array Pipe Calibration Block has four EDM notches, two of which are axial and two of which are circumferential on both the OD and ID. The notches are 8-11% of the nominal wall thickness deep, 1/4" wide at their widest point (the majority of them are between.030" and.040"), and 1.000" long at their shortest point. While blocks larger than 5" NPS are cut to a 180°/120°/90°/60° arc section, blocks smaller than 5" NPS are left at 360°. (depending on nominal pipe size). Every block has an axial length of at least 12" or 10T, whichever is greater.Made with a PAUT modification in compliance with ASME Section V Article 4 Figure T-43.3.
