Anti-graffiti coatings are exterior durable thermosetting powder coatings based on polyurethane resins designed for anti-graffiti applications. They feature excellent chemicals resistance and superior weather resistance. They can be used to produce surface finishes which are nearly resistant to all types of graffiti. Sprayed paint can be removed without a trace. Since they have high crosslink density, this yields high chemical resistance. LDPE Powder - Automotive Carpet Backing

Carpets are backed with flexible plastics for various reasons. In the Automotive sector the layer of LDPE makes the carpet thermoformed able. This means that the carpet can be hot pressed into the shape desired and it has enough rigidity to stay in that shape in service and processing. For both domestic and automotive carpet, the powder layer provides another function that of an adhesive-locking the carpet fibres down so that during service the fibres cannot be pulled out of the carpet. Some manufacturers use the powder adhesive to glue other non woven fabrics onto the carpet as a non slip or finishing under layer. Carpet Backing Process: Coarse powders of typically Polyethylene (LDPE) are scatter coated onto the reverse of a carpet that then moves slowly through a series of infra-red heating ovens. The powder layer, which is a thermoplastic, melts onto the back of the carpet and works like a glue to laminate other backing fabric/roll materials. The whole laminate is then cooled and solidified and the carpet is then rolled up and made ready for shipping.

HAPA DC is designed for dip coating method. Under this method bare article is heated in the oven at 250-300°C (480-570°F) for 5-10 minutes. The heating time and temperature depends on the mass of the article and the loading of the oven. This has to be practically ascertained to provide the desired production rates and coating thickness. The heated article is dipped in a tray containing the powder and the powder is splashed on it or dipped in a fluidized bed of the powder for 2-5 seconds. The powder will stick to the hot article. To smoothen out the powder and provide a glossy surface, the article is re-heated in the oven for 2-3 minutes. The suggested temperature varies between 120-140°C. This causes the powder to melt, sinter and flow out. Excessive heating may cause the coating to discolour or sag. The article should be carefully taken out of the oven, without coating coming into contact with any other surface and allowed to cool in a clean dust free atmosphere. Sometimes water quenching is also resorted to, for wire products. Applications: Wire Mesh, Wire Fences, Valve

The air velocity and amount of powder should be suitably adjusted so as to prevent over spray or bouncing back of the powder spray. Once the article is coated, care should be taken to ensure it does not rub or come into contact with any surface, to prevent damage to the coating.
