Transformer is a vital component of a distribution system. It has to deliver Reliable Power in a safe & efficient manner. However, 8% of the transformers installed worldwide fail on account of improper connector systems.A conventional connector system used for LV cable connection, deploys crimping and tightening of the bolts. Over a period of time, it leads to a loose electrical contacts which causes sparks and hot spots. The contact resistance is high which adds to the losses of ailing utilities. The weight of the connector causes mechanical strains on the bushing of the transformer, leading to oil leakages.

Distribution Boxes incorporate busbars with unique and patented spring-action contacts. Installed where multiple tapping on low voltage distribution network is required, the boxes are assembled on the pole using metal straps or bolts and are easily fed from secondary line.

The Substation Total Demand Monitor has been designed to provide an easy to install (30-45 minutes), versatile and configurable metrology system. The total demand of the substation is calculated by the summation of the feeder loads and all loading parameters are measured. The system may be configured to measure transformer output and feeders by using Rogowski coils. Busbar voltage phase to phase angles may also be measured for the 3 phases. Working in conjunction with RTU, which provides RS485 over Modbus; the data is transmitted to a central server over GPRS using DNP3NEXUS protocol. This can also be made available to other manufacturers host servers if required. Continual logging of metrology values is done via the Modbus interface and all logs are datetime stamped, with the clock being synchronized with central server. Alarms and alerts relating to a range of measured parameters can be sent out.

NH vertical switch fuse disconnectors are three-pole fuse-switches for busbar mounting where three single-pole fuse-switches are vertically arranged in one unit. The dry compact switchgear termination for voltage classes up to 245 kV is designed to be installed in cable entry housings of gas-insulated switchgear (GIS). It complies with IEC 62271-209 standard, which essentially specifies the interfaces between the termination and the switchgear. Therefore the termination will fit into all GIS complying with IEC 62271-209. Adapters are available to match the dimensions of wet (oil-filled) type terminations, and older designs specified in IEC 60859. The termination operates in SF6 but also in insulating liquids like transformer oil.

Link boxes are used with cable joints and terminations to provide easy access to shield breaks for test purposes and to limit voltage building up on the sheath. Lightning, fault currents and switching operations can cause over voltages on the cable sheath. The link box optimizes loss management in the cable shield on cables grounded from both sides.

Heat-shrinkable wraparound sleeves are a fast, versatile and permanent method of repair for damaged cable outer sheaths. Upon application of heat, the sleeve shrinks and adhesive melts and bonds to the cable sheath, creating a permanent seal against moisture entry into the cable. Wraparound sleeves are useful for repairs to cable outer sheath where it is not possible to use tubular sleeves.

This new low fire hazard material has been developed using the latest polymer technology to provide low smoke, low toxicity and low acid gas generation while being highly flame retardant and having a low calorific value. ZCSM tubing is halogen-free and flame-retardant. A range of established tests, such as flame propagation tests, limiting oxygen index and temperature index have been carried out to assess the flame retardation properties of this materialCorrosion damage depends on the amount of acid gases generated when a material is burned, and therefore on the level of halogens and other acidic components in the insulation material. Pyrolytic analyses show only trace quantities of these substances in the ZCSM tubing. The low toxicity index rating derived from measurements of these and further Combustion products provide additional evidence of the materials suitability for meeting special requirements of this kind
