Acephate is a general-use insecticide registered for use on food crops, agricultural seed and non-bearing plants, institutions and commercial buildings including public health facilities, sod, golf course turf, ant mounds, and horticultural nursery plants. Acephate is a systemic insecticide used to control sucking and biting insects by direct contact or ingestion. In soil, plants, and insects, acephate is converted to methamidophos, Methamidophos is another organophosphate insecticide.
