Multi-Switch improves electrical supply continuity. The principle of operation guarantees a higher reliability level than that achieved using a single UPS (on-line with automatic bypass) or several UPS in parallel.PRINCIPLE OF OPERATIONThe Multi-Switch provides electrical distribution and remote management for up to eight network users, powered from either one or two direct mains supplies or UPS or a combination of both.Multi-Switch can connect each user (up to eight, each with a maximum power demand not greater than 3A), to either of the two power sources (A and B). Load demand is shown on the LCD. Each PowerBox contains all of the necessary switchgear and distribution panels to deliver uninterruptible power from a combination power solution. This can include: a Riello UPS, Flywheel energy storage system, battery packs and suitably rated generator.
The Riello PowerBox provides critical systems with a site specific power solution. It can be easily deployed and installed wherever and whenever needed, with minimal impact on existing plant room and facilities. Each PowerBox contains all of the necessary switchgear and distribution panels to deliver uninterruptible power from a combination power solution. This can include: a Riello UPS, Flywheel energy storage system, battery packs and suitably rated generator. PowerBox provides a robust, highly resilient power solution with zero downtime and is easily installed with components within a "stand-alone" 20-foot or 40-foot container. Central Supply System designed in compliance withstandard EN 50171
The CSS (Central Supply System) range by Riello UPS is designed in compliance with standard EN 50171 and is therefore the ideal solution for installation in buildings subject to fire safety regulations and in particular for the power supply of emergency lighting systems. This is not all however, the CSS range by Riello UPS is also suitable for supplying power to other emergency systems such as automatic fire extinguishing systems, alarm systems and emergency detection systems, smoke extraction equipment and carbon monoxide detection devices as well as dedicated security systems in sensitive areas. The use of centralised supply systems (CSS) ensures a significant reduction in system set-up and maintenance costs as well as making periodical checks simpler and faster to perform.
DUAL INPUTThe Riello UPS CSS range is equipped withDUAL INPUT as standard on all models.This important feature allows the mandatoryscheduled checks on system operation andautonomy to be carried out with extremeease and in complete safety by simplyoperating an input switch. This switchinterrupts the power supply to the machinewithout interrupting the bypass line, whichis able to support the load in the event oftest failure.
HIGH RECHARGE CURRENT ANDBATTERY CARE SYSTEMProper battery care is critical to ensuringcorrect CSS operation in emergencyconditions.The Riello UPS battery care system consistsof a series of features and capabilitiesdesigned to obtain the best performance, extend operating life and satisfy therecharge times imposed by the standard.The Riello UPS CSS range is designed incompliance with standard EN 50171 andensures high current levels are availablefor the batteries, allowing recharge of up to 80% of full autonomy within 12 hours.Riello UPS CSS are suitable for use withhermetically sealed lead-acid (VRLA), AGMand GEL batteries and Open Vent and Nickel batteries. Different charging methods are available depending on the battery type. The recharge voltage compensation function based on temperature prevents excessive battery charges and overheating. The deep discharge protection prevents reduced battery performance and battery damage.
HIGH OVERLOAD CAPACITYAs required by standard EN 50171, the RielloUPS CSS range is designed and sized tosupport continuous overloads (with no timelimits) of up to 120% of the machine's nominalpower rating.
PROTECTION AGAINST BATTERYINVERSIONMandatory in line with standard EN 50171, protection against battery inversion ensuresthe safety of those carrying out maintenanceoperations on the devices and at the sametime prevents damage to the system in theevent that the batteries are inadvertentlyconnected with the wrong polarity.

MODELSThe Riello UPS CSS range is based on bothsingle-phase and three-phase models divided into two product families, 1h and 3h, optimised to offer maximum runtimes of 1hour and 3 hours respectively at nominal loadin accordance with the parameters set out instandard EN 50171.In particular the models in the 3h rangefeature transformer-based technologyand provide maximum protection for theconnected load.The models in the 3h range are based ontransformer-less technology, thereforeproviding improved efficiency and reducedfootprints.
PowerShield provides efficient, user-friendly UPS management using bar chart displays to show major operational information such as the input voltage, UPS load % and batteries charge %.The software also provides detailed information on fault conditions and UPS operating characteristics. PowerShield has been developed with a client/server architecture that makes it flexible and easy to use, and provides multi-lingual and on-line support.
Sequential and priority-based shutdown: PowerShield provides unattended shutdown of single and networked PCs, saving any active work and the most widely used applications Windows. Users can define their own shutdown procedures and establish the order in which critical computers (such as servers) are to bepowered downMulti-platform compatibility: PowerShield uses the TCP/IP communications protocol to achieve standardised management and monitoring across the widest possible range of platforms. This makes it possible to monitor computers with different operating systems from a single console, for example monitoring a UNIX server from a PC with Windows and also connecting to UPS located in differentgeographical areas using dedicated networks (intranets) or the InternetEvent scheduling: PowerShield users can program their own shutdown procedures, detailing power-off and power-up scenarios to increase system safety and, equally important, power economyMessages management: PowerShield keeps users constantly informed about the status of their local and network UPS, and environmental sensors. PowerNETGuard software centralises UPS management using network interface (SNMP) communications. It is ideal for Data Centre managers and medium to large sized networks. PowerNETGuard uses the RFC1628 standard Management Information Base (MIB) and ensures standardised UPS management wherever they are located.
The NetMan 204network agent allowsUPS directly connected over LAN 10/100Mb connections to be managed using themain network communication protocols(TCP /IP , HTTP HTTPS, SSH, SNMPv1, SNMPv2 and SNMPv3). It is the idealsolution for the integration of UPS overEthernet networks with Modbus/TCP and BACnet/IP protocols. It was developed to integrateUPS into medium-sized and large networks, to provide a high level of reliability incommunication between the UPS andassociated management systems.
The Netman 204 card provides reliable communication between the UPS and its management systems over LAN 10/100 Mb, utilising the main network communication protocols (TCP / IP, HTTP and SNMP), industrial protocols MODBUS / TCP or BACNET / IP and is now available in a convenient wireless option.

The Netman environmental sensors monitor and record environmental conditions as well as activities in protected areas and at the premises where the UPS is installed.The environmental sensors allow extensive control and management of the environment around the UPS by monitoring the temperature, humidity, triggering devices such as fans or locks and communicating the values via web, SNMP and via the PowerShield software.

The MultiCOM 301/302 protocol converter may be used to monitor the UPS using the MODBUS/JBUS protocol on RS485 or RS232 serial line. It will also manage a second, independent RS232 serial line that can be used to connect other devices such as the Netman 101 or a PC that uses the PowerShield software.
This adapter allows you to use the Riello UPS communication cards via an RS232 port. Is the optimal solution for use with legacy UPS without a slot or for use with UPS equipped with only one expansion slot.

Multi Sentry is a state-of-the-art uninterruptible power supply, achieving the highest possible level of on-line double-conversion performance (VFI-SS-111) as defined within IEC EN 62040-3.
