The daily water production from the solar battery mode is up to 100+ gallons (370+ liters) per day. For continuous water purification production a 15 ft long 12-volt electrical power cord is provided with a lighter plug and battery jumper cable clips that can be plugged into any car, truck, boat, plane, generator or any 12-volt electrical power supply source This System does not require any outside electrical power; nor is there a need for chemical additives. Water volume flow rates can be increased by using a specially designed manifold which allows 5 systems to be connected together to increase water volume production amounts to 5 gallons (18 liters) per minute or greater. These Portable, Solar Battery / 12-volt Powered Water Purification Systems pull the water from the source and through a 5.0 micron Sediment Pre-Filter. The water is then pushed through a 0.5 micron Carbon Block Polishing Filter that has the capabilities of removing Giardia and Cryptosporidium Cysts, Herbicides, Pesticides, Trihalomethanes (THMs), certain Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOCs), Chlorine and Chlorine By-Products, Sediment, Bad Taste, Odors, Color, Smell, and many other Harmful Chemicals and Contaminants down to a 0.5 micron. The polished filtered water is then channeled past an Ultraviolet Light Disinfecting Process that has the ability to kill Bacteria, Viruses, Typhoid Fever, Dysentery, Cholera, Infectious Jaundice, Hepatitis and Influenza Virus, E-coli, Coliform, Enteric Fever and many other unwanted microorganisms to a 99.999% purity.
Highlights The largest wind + PV hybrid system installed in Maharashtra Meets the power requirements of all PCs and peripherals at the MEDA office Serves to demonstrate the effectiveness of using solar and wind energy Project Background Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) is an autonomous body of the Government of Maharashtra formed with objective of promoting the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency in the state. MEDA is headquartered in Pune. MEDA realized early on the large potential for off grid wind+PV hybrid systems, especially in rural unelectrified regions. With a view to demonstrate the proof of concept to potential customers and investors, MEDA decided to install one such system at its own office in Pune. The systems size was decided at 5 kWp, comprising of a 3.2 kWp wind turbine and a 1.5 kWp solar PV array. The electricity generated was to power lights and some computers in the office. However it was soon realized that the wind resource at the site was inadequate, as a result of which the hybrid system was never able to deliver the rated back up. Solar resource at the site was however adequate and available almost throughout the year The Challenge Having drawn lessons from their previous difficult experiences of the wind+PV hybrid, the capacity addition had to be done within the following constraints: Installed wind generator or wind energy charge controller were not be disturbed Existing system components were to be reused to the maximum extent possible. Module installation was required to be done on the terrace within a designated area only with the added provision that the area below the modules was not only accessible but also usable. The project was required to be completed in a tight budged within a tighter time frame. SVAM Electronics assisted MEDA in first carrying out the scoping study and was then subsequently awarded the contract to install the system. Drawing upon the knowledge of its experienced staff, SVAM Electronics offered MEDA a value engineered solution. The project was completed within 5 weeks.

Working These systems work by using the light & heat energy i.e.Solar energy which is radiated by the sun abundantly on the earth. Heat from the Sunrays falling on the glass of the still is trapped in the body where the hard water is kept. Due to the heat only pure water gets evaporated and comes at the bottom of the glass due to the slope. This distilled /evaporated water is collected in the can through the semi circular PVC pipe. For cleaning purpose just open the drain , given at the bottom as shown in figure, tilt the still slightly so that water, impurities will drain out through drain.
